I know theres really no reason to give them much thought, but it seems like a few different sites and papers have kicked around the idea of us acquiring Garret Atkins. MLBTradeRumors says both Holliday and Atkins are available and that we(probably by virtue of us just needing power) are suiters for both.

So I ask: does ANYONE think Garret Atkins would help this team?

I've read about the idea of him playing 1st base for the Rockies so I can see that angle if we miss out on Teixeira.....but it seems a little too half-assed and redundant in my opinion considering hes basically just a 20-25 HR guy.

Besides, the mere fact that people are linking his name with us pretty much means the Ninja has already crossed him off his list for lack of sneakiness.
