Seriously.......S-Rod is FAST and has GREAT D in the IF and OF.
He is hitting .375 with 4HRs and 2Doubles in 7 games in the DWL. I would take a chance with S-Rod……..If he dont work out then Plug in GMJ once he gets better, or move K-Mo to OF and bring up TRUMBO.

I read an article that made a great point about the lack of CF talent in the free agency market and how NYY are in need. They have all but given up on Melky Cabrera and Johnny Damon isn’t a reliable every day OF and Hideki is also getting up there in age.
GMJ could have been a great option for them considering they are the only team that could probably take his money….

1B: Kendry Morales (Will play some RF as well when Vlad needs a rest)

Predictions:
Tex is obviously gone and playing for the $kanks or possibly Boston, yet won’t win a world series and won’t really care (though he will give the cliched response that he would trade everything he owns for a WS championship during his signing press conference) since he will have all the cash that he wants. Frankie is gone as well as Garland and Rivera.
The Angels take a gamble on Brad Penny on a 1 year contract with an option for a 2nd year after the Dodgers decline their option on him. They sign Dennys Reyes, resign Oliver and hope that Speier rebounds or someone from within the Angels system steps up in the bullpen.
The Angels resign GA to a cheap 1 year deal with a bunch of incentives and an option for a 2nd after he begs the Angels to stay. The Angels trade for Prince Fielder and include Joe Saunders, Chone Figgins, and Sean Rodriguez in the package.
The Angels use the money that is saved on Tex, Garland, and Frankie to give contract extensions to Fielder, Lackey, and Vladdy after he proves that he will still be productive for years to come thanks to his knee surgery. We also find out that officially Vladdy was born in 1975 instead of 1976.
The Angels also have a relatively injury free season (except for Maicer, GMJ, Escobar, and a few 15 day DL stints for a couple of players) and get to the WS and play the Cardinals on the strength of the deadly Fielder/Vladdy combo with Weaver somehow regaining his 2006 form, becoming a CY candidate, and winning 18 games, pitching 200 plus innings and striking out 180 with an ERA of around 3.30, while Ervin wins 16, Lackey wins 15, Penny wins 14, and Mosley goes 10-12.
