Napoli good call, but...

See You Monday, chowds!

Hell Yeah!

Pretty stupid that it took us more than twice the amount of hits to get the same amount of runs. (Remember we walked in a run).

Still, hope?

Naps has always been my favorit Catcher since he came up, I've been arguing with my brother

that Martin’s Power is NO WHERE NEAR Napoli’s Power. Like I told Naps at Fan Fest, “I belive you will hit 44 HR’s in the Bigs SOON.” Thats if Sciosca give’s him regular starting time.

Morales and Napoli have been two of my Favorit Angels. I still have not worn the Napoli Shirt since he signed it. Probably will put it in a Frame along with his Signed Rookie card.

He's still young, but....

I actually think he would be a better reliever than a starter since it seems that he usually gets in trouble when other lineups see him for a 3rd time during the game.

Walking Ortiz in extra innings with the game on the line

is never a bad idea. So I don’t fault him for that one. He got one ridiculous strike call to go his way (the Ellsbury pitch), but he was very good. I’m fine with him coming into a tight game.

I feel the need, the need...for speed!

If the Red Sox are going to beat the Angels, they are going to have play a lot better than they have the last 2 games. They know that they are lucky to be in the position they are in thanks to bad defense and a bunch of RISP by the Angels.

I'll have to disagree

WS Game 6 ‘02
WS Game 7 ’02 (the game where we won it)
ALDS Game 3 ’02 (big comeback at home against the Yankees)
ALCS Game 5 ’02 (Kennedy’s 3 jacks)

all are better I think

Though this game’s significance will only be fully realized once the series is complete

Na dont agree......We OWN the Yankees on the Other hand the Red Sox have owned us in the Playoffs

So getting un-owned and Naps 2HR’s takes out the ALDS Game 3 and sits at #3 all time.

Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it depends how detailed you want

It’s 1:30 AM here, but let’s give it a shot.

I got there wearing just an Angels sweatshirt and my hat, since wearing a jersey there usually leads to ruined jerseys. I sat next to a pole which really obscured my view, so my friend and I moved down a row next to some longtime season ticket holders. These guys were worthwhile fans, asking me about who the hell Jose Arredondo is, and why in god’s name is Scioscia planning on bringing in K-Rod. On my other side, basically everywhere else, I was surrounded by idiot fans whose best cheer was “Hey Saunders…you suck!”

The place was really loud, particularly when Papelbon was in, or when Torii and Howie both missed that damn pop fly. Contrast that to the complete lack of noise when Napoli did his thing, and Aybar. Absolutely awesome.

Weaver for closer?

but yeah, a lot of the splits we end up doing you kinda just to almost turn your mind off and just trust yourself and your hands. if you think too much, you hesitate and then thats no good. its a weird balance

What an amazing game, my heart is still beating.

I loved the interview with Napoli

HE looked at the guy asking about the streak with a blank stare because the jocks have no idea of the geeky stat and streak things that the jerkoffs blab on and on about. The interviewer was stumbling, shocked that Napoli isn’t listening to the gamecast from behind the plate.

by Rev Halofan on Oct 5, 2008 10:32 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

What an incredible ballgame tonight! We've turned the corner now!

We just got that enormous weight that’s been on our backs and shrugged it the hell off.

We roped their Ace tonight!
So many of our guys came up HUGE!!

Mike Napoli is a GIANT.
HK was driving the ball!
The midle of the lineup is on fire!
Saunders was fantastic
Erick Aybar comes up enormous!
How about my little Jarrod Weaver! An AWESOME performance!
Figgy was key on both sides of the line tonight!
Oliver, Shields, Frankie, Arredondo all were clutch!

We made one bad mistake and we were looking like underachievers out there. Then, we showed what we are made of. Piss and Vinegar!

I believe!

This is just the beginning

This is my first time posting a comment and what a great game to write about. We still left too many men on base but on the flip side we finally got those "clutch " hits ( Napoli & Aybar) that weren’t there in the previous games. Saunders and the pen were great tonight also.

I love the reality of having Big John for tomorrow night!

He is one of the greatest warriors we’ve ever had. He’s a bull out there.

And Joe Saunders? He earned some warrior stripes himself tonight.

by goodvibe61 on Oct 5, 2008 10:43 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I've always liked Saunders

Ever since he came up he’s been underestimated. He’s a damn fine pitcher with a great attitude and amazing composure. He may not have overpowering stuff, but he’s been getting it done from the moment he first stepped on a mound for the Angels.

Howie turned the corner as well tonight!

When that error happened i honestly felt like our season had slipped away, and i was thinking how horrible Howie’s winter was gonna be.

But then he came back in the ballgame and got a couple of big hits! He really nutted it up in the second half of this ballgame, and I’m thinking that right now he can’t wait for tomorrow night to get going because he’s off the schneid now.
