It's true

baseball is anyone’s game. Dodgers fans do not care though. Dodger fans do not understand baseball they just see dodgers win angels lose and then they come after us with everything they’ve got. when dodgers lose though their mouths are very quiet and its very annoying. I feel us angel fans know we are a better team so i personally just let that do the talking, of course right now is not a good time haha but hey im just hoping the phills bring out the brooms

No, it's not a crapshoot

The Dodgers are a much, much better team w/ Manny & Furcal, and with Pierre on the bench, than not.

The Angels were the better team than the Sox, but they just played like ass. That ain’t luck, that’s bad execution.

Except the Angels aren't the better team.

Even something basic as Pythag record shows that. That’s that stat that everyone around here pulled out to say the M’s weren’t as good as they played last season so I know you’re all familiar with it somewhat.

Everyone around here hates that stat.

Just because a couple people used it in the heat of the moment doesn’t mean EVERYONE around here pulled it out on you guys last year. We’re familiar with it because it consistently says we aren’t as good as we are, BUT WE KEEP WINNING GAMES.

We’ve had two HORRIBLE postseasons since 2002 (2004 & 2007), one not-so-good postseason (2008), and one decent showing (2005).

The Angels were a better team than the Red Sox this year. They only lost one game to them during the regular season and finished with a better record than them. The Angels were deeper and in better health, we simply did not play the way that we had all season. Had we done that, we would have taken the series. That simple.

If the Red Sox and Dodgers play for the World Series, I will not watch a single minute of a single game.

I don't think you can take 9 or 10 games from the season and say one team is better..

The same way you can’t make that judgment from just a playoff series. Didn’t the Angels miss Beckett and Dice-K the first time around (Or was it Beckett and Lester?) and I think missed Beckett in another one of the series against them.

The Angels played in a mediocre division while the Red Sox played in a division with 3 other decent to very good teams.

I do agree that if they had played all season they would have won the series, but Im sure that goes for any team that loses a playoff series. I think the luck just went the other way this time around.

so you're reaffirming my point then.

If the Red Sox and Dodgers play for the World Series, I will not watch a single minute of a single game.

Crapshoot

What’s a better indicator of how good a team is? 162 games or 5 games?

The World Series crowns baseball’s champion, not its best overall team. I’m not saying that needs to be changed. That’s just how it is.

It's a crapshoot

Especially since the hotter teams that have something to play for in late September have more momentum. This is why the wild card teams do well in the playoffs.

I’ll think I’m up for this idea of two wild card teams playing a “play in” game the day before the playoffs start. It might not affect momentum, but it will affect their rotation.

Logistically, I don’t think it would work, though. October’s schedule is tight as it is.

If it is true

“hotter teams that have something to play for in late September have more momentum”
and/or
“wild card teams do well in the playoffs”

then it’s not a crapshoot, is it?

Francisco Rodriguez: 2006 to Present: 149 saves. 5 Panthers. As fabulous as Pride, Romero, Gregg, Budde and Dino Ebel combined.

Somewhat

But you have to be really good to get there.

Angel Pitching, Angel Defense - get past that.
