What Went Right?
I couldn't bring myself to visit this page through the playoffs, for the most part. It was just too hard.
And spurred on by the Rev's post this morning, I too visited the stadium today. For what purpose? At first I thought it was out of spite combined with disbelief that anyone could return a jersey because the Halos (surprise, surprise) blew it in the postseason. But on reflection I think I just wanted to be there. To feed some intangible need for reconciliation. To say that this hurts, but this is my favorite place to be in the warm months, and I'll see you again when I am a year older.
So I've been compiling a list, in my head, to try to ease the pain. A list of what went right, rather than what went wrong. Something to help me forget that horseshit of a strikeout call against Tex. Something to make me forget the fact that I could very well be saying "Go Dodgers" before the month is over.
So help me make a list of everyting that was great about this year. Everything that is still great about this year.
1. 100 wins for the first time.
2. Santana does a 180 from a hideous road record and lackluster hoemstand and confounds expectations and becomes an Allstar.
3. Vlad defies speculation that he is already done, rebounds like the Imapler he is and secures 11 seasons of batting over 300.
4. Frankie shatters the 18 year old saves record and seasons it with 4 more saves for good measure.

Rancho technically only made a one game playoff to determine who would go to the playoffs, but yeah, our minor league system is a machine!

The Angels played well enough all season as a team that we were proud to cheer for them each and every day.

Well, hell, so do I.
And I suck at mine, too. Being the benchmark against which all others justify their bonus is quite a burden, let me tell you…
Francisco Rodriguez: 2006 to Present: 149 saves. 5 Panthers. As fabulous as Pride, Romero, Gregg, Budde and Dino Ebel combined.
He's calling himself?
"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring".
Rogers Hornsby

Very well...I will be amazed if he doesn't have some reaction to having his mug shot posted.
Peace, love, and marshmallows! (I just might have that added to my signature).
On second thought, do you want to take "peace, love,..." for your sig.
..and I take the Hornsby quote?
nope
"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring".
Rogers Hornsby
Ah…you’re negotiable…great!
Ok… I will give you one of our company coffee cups (maroon with gold lettering!), and – now this is to die for…and I wouldn’t offer it unless I knew in advance you are such a TOUGH negotiator – a 1993 Torey Lovullo Angels baseball card!! Very rare!!!
Deal?
You two are gonna rue the day...

Our friend Joe Maddon made the playoffs with the Rays – and we can still root for him in the LCS against the Sawx.

For me personally, seeing the Angels win in Fenway twice this season, including their first playoff win vs. Boston since before I was born.

I will answer that when
you explain why you felt it necessary to create two user accounts on the same day (this one and "ertadfan") as trolls do this sort of thing.
Wow, someone's a stickler....
Thanks for making me feel welcome. I entered in my wrong email address for “erstadfan”…didn’t know how the system works. Now I got it under control I think.
