Leadoff Hitters
I like Figgins alot. i just don't like him @3B. if he was a Middle IF that would be fine. it doesn't matter if you sign Teix or not. its just 1 less bat in the lineup without power. when Kotch was here he didn't have too much power either soo it really showed in our lineup. i was wondering what do u you guys think about leadoff hitters. isn't that the main reason why everyone thinks we should keep him because he's our main leadoff hitter? only thing is most likely there's 9 diff leadoff hitters in the game. so i think having him around just to have a idealistic leadoff hitter is a waste unless he plays a traditional non-power position. what do u guys think?

The main reason I like Figgy around
Is because I don’t trust any of the other “leadoff” possible type hitters we have. Aybar, no thank you. Izzy, more clutch than consistant at the plate. Revert GMJ back to leadoff, I don’t want him anywhere near a batter’s box in an Angel’s uniform.
And the idea of a leadoff hitter is to have an ideal guy who can get on so you can strike early at a team. I’m well aware of the randomness of leadoff hitters per inning

mark teixeira should lead off. he'll either walk or hit a home run

I say you trade Figgy for either an SP, a LF, or prospects
And if that doesn’t land you, say, a Matt Kemp, then let Willits/Matthews platoon, and bat them leadoff.
I would like to see S-Rod lead off.
He has speed and power like Alfonso Soriano.
Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
S-Rod
needs to learn how to hit period before he can be a lead off hitter. He’s got potential but he needs more experience and needs time to work out SERIOUS MECHANICAL PROBLEMS in his swing. He loops his swing horribly which exposes a lot of holes.

Its a Yoke......I make a yoke lol
I was just kiddin…..i know he cant hit in the bigs yet i was only a joke.
But he might in a year or two.
Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would you rather
have Figgy at 3rd or in left? His offense plays equally bad at either position. He’s the only good lead off man we have, like the others have said. Figgy could theoretically play 2nd if we unload Howie, but I don’t see that happening.

LAST CHANCE TO TRADE FIGGY
Wood at 3B, Willits and GMJ leadoff until we find a better alternative – can’t be too terribly worse than Chone at this point.
Trade him.....Let Aybar lead off. He is hitting .393 with 14 runs in 14 games.
Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and everytime the bases are empty
he has a 17.35% chance of a grand slam

As much as I hate the thought of GMJ touching a bat, he did hit lefties well last year.
Platooning him with Willits might be worth a shot. Maybe Willits can re-capture some of that 2007 magic with regular playing time.
Willits is not an option
As many of us have pointed out in numerous other post, he did not make the adjustments necessary to keep a spot on a major league roster.
I may change my mind if he actually shows something in spring training and the beginning of the season (With GMJ out for the 1st month or two, with the way the roster is today, he’s the primary replacement in left), but currently he is the last person I want to have a bat in his hand.
