OC Register Enters 21st Century
The subject is Frankie, and the Register actually has a decent back-and-forth argument about stats-versus-grit and their new StatHead columnist Sam Miller pretty much mops the floor with Mark Whicker.

Wow
I love how Whicker says he’s not even sure who Sam Miller is. It makes it look like Whicker’s amazed that anyone has the audacity to question him and refute his arguments with things called numbers. How dare he?

Yes, the OCR enters the 21st century with the thoughtful Miller, but still showcases the 20th century mind of Whicker.
How about giving Whicker’s column to Miller? I’d consider visiting the OCR website for that.

Whicker makes a decent defense
of his position, but his argument is still severely flawed. I think the main point is the one Miller makes in his last rebuttal – if Frankie didn’t get 69 save opportunities (something completely out of his control), he wouldn’t even be mentioned. I think if he’d only blown one or two of those games, there might be a legitimate argument. But 62 out of 69 isn’t spectacular. Right place, right time does not equal MVP.
I feel the need, the need...for speed!

Sam Miller
He did an article on my Baja Field Study in high school.
Really cool dude & a mean Risk player.
If GA wasn't so Lazy, I'd have something clever here.
