Angels table contract talks with Vladimir Guerrero
"I think both sides have to be in a comfortable range as far as what an extension may or may not entail," Reagins said. "We're a ways away."
This does not make me very pleased.

I bet they are wanting Vlad to be in a contract year, who knows it might spur his numbers
I know not every player works that way, and I doubt Vlad is like that, but it seems to work for a lot of other players to have big years. Then resign him during the exclusive period next year. I am sure he wants to stay here. Or if he is ripping it up (like I think he will) give him a midseason extension.

Hard to resign a guy to big bucks coming off of knee surgery
I suspect it will be similar to how the Lakers played it with Bynum. See how the knee does in spring training and if it looks good, all systems go, they will resign him. It also depends on how much $$ they spend this offseason, if no Tex, Vlad will be a must.
