According to this story on MLB.com, ex-Astro Ty Wigginton was just non-tendered. He may not be a huge threat, but he could be a cheap, solid LF option for us, especially if we sign Teixeira (and possibly trade Figgins).
Last year with the 'Stros, Ty put up a .285/.350/.526 line with 23 HRs in just 111 games. Essentially, he'd be Juan Rivera 2.0, just with a better OBP. And really, he's more of a sure thing than Rivera.
Just throwing it out there, really... If we can sign Tex and package up Figgy for another starter, Wood can start at 3B and we can sign Wigginton to a cheap, 1 or 2 year deal (he made a little over $4MM in 2008).
