PrintI personally love Manny. He's so much fun just to see him play.
You guys have to stop with the whole Boston scandal that happened in July. He didn't want to be there anymore and he did handle it unprofessionally but did you see any scandal in LA. Manny's career revived in LA as he hit .400 basically with a bunch of RBIs and Homeruns.
And I think Mike Scioscia would be able to handle a guy like Manny.
If Joe Torre can handle him, our manager can handle him too.
I'm not saying that the Angels should sign Manny or do anything with him. I'm just saying that there shouldn't be that many Manny-Haters out there.

He sucks a lot of
baseballs into his bat via the vacuum created by his pure awesomeness and then once the bat hits the ball, it goes over a fence approximately 330-400 feet away, depending on where it’s hit.

Truth. “Brain like porridge”…that was pretty funny.
When Manny was with Cleveland, I loved him. He was so fun to watch. Just an incredible hitter. Then it became obvious what kind of guy he was and I didn’t enjoy watching him any more.

a few years ago i went into a bar in boston
right next to the new garden. Was with my “black” buddy, his white girlfriend and another white friend (i’m white). I seriously thought we were going to have to fight for our lives that night. luckily my buddy didn’t make a scene or big deal about the racist crap and constant bad looks we were given. Plus, he wanted to go to a club after one drink. I gladly agreed because i didn’t feel like fighting 20 on 3. i’m a lover, not a fighter. But i couldn’t wait to get out of that crap town.

In an Angel atmosphere I would have to believe he would behave.
However, I still think his price/years is going to go so high that we won’t want to go there. Maybe I’m wrong.

He hits and he hits well which is exactly what we need. It’s about clutch and Oct and he does both, and would especially add more fuel to the Bos rivalry if we see them again. You don’t think he knows that? It’s a no-brainer if Tex walks.

There is no question that the guy can rake.
I’m just not into his highjinx…it would be funny though to see the look on those stupid chowds faces, but here are the top 3 reasons we won’t sign Manny:
1. There is no scoreboard to hide behind and smoke weed in left field between pitching changes (he can hi-five in the left field corner though)
2. Torii does not need a cut-off man
3. Too many beauty shops in OC to let him get away with those naughty dreads

Can you imagine how much media coverage the club would get? Or how much more we’d have to talk about with him on the team. Watching all the goofball bandwagoners wearing their dredlocked Angels’ hats. Seeing each of his home runs on Baseball Tonight.
It would be FUN, and I think that’s why were fans of this game.

I didn’t believe in an East Coast Media bias until I moved to New York. Unless your name is Kobe Bryant, you don’t get any media coverage if you are further west than Pittsburgh. Especially from the ESPN (or the all Yankees-Red Sox all the time network).
If you don't remember when there weren't rocks in center field, you might not be a real Angels fan.
While Manny's "D" is certainly below par,
keep in mind who has been our “regular” LF for the past umpteen years!
I don’t see any gold gloves in GA’s trophy collection, and there is scant comparison at the plate, especially these days….
(Please let’s not make this a character comparison – I am only responding to the "D")

I’ll completely change my mind, a complete 180. I’ll become the biggest Manny fan in the world. I will immediately don my Angels dreadlock cap and buy a Manny jersey. signing manny would be a big f u to the doyers, the skanks, and bashtin
that should be reason enough right there. oh did i mention the guy mashes? its not like there hasnt been a defensive void in left field for a while now, manny is merely continuing that (defensive) tradition.
The more I think about it
the more I believe we will end up with Ramirez. I think someone posted about this a monthor so ago but I’m close to convincing myself that this all part of Boras master plan.
Get Tex to sign for a gabillion dollars with the Red Sox – using the Halos, NY, Nats, Bal, and his every present and fictitious mystery team to drive the price way up to where only Boston will pay…then Manny will be the premier slugger on the markt and he will be able to now us 3 big market teams (Halos, NY, and Dodgers) to drive up his price and his demand for a 3 -4 yr contract.
He then moves to his pitching guys of Lowe and Perez now that his premier sluggers are off and starts his next tier of hitters like GA to all the teams left scrambling.
The guy is good – and an SOB…damn I hate him.

Well lets see we have the West all wrapped up by now. And we need bats for the play-offs. He is one of the best Play-Off bats in the MLB. I will also buy a jersey when the sign him!
