Pirates sign Bootcheck
The Pirates have inked former Halo Chris Bootcheck to a deal worth $700,000 and a spring training invite.

We DFA’s him, he cleared waivers, we assigned him to AAA, the season ended and he was a free agent.

Good for him -
he could catch on as a reliever for a team like the Pirates. His stuff is pretty well suited for a bullpen role – his FB is more active and, well, fast, in 2 inning stints.
He sure didn’t pan out after all the hoopla surrounding his signing…
