Who will flinch?
Based on what I am reading this morning the Sox will not go ten years under any circumstances. We should over an option for years nine and ten as well as a opt out clause or no trade(whatever will get it done). I believe all three offers are competitive and it might be one of these options that gets it done. We need to get this done.

This is worse than the Iran-US hostage crisis during December 1980.

Mixing metaphors, are we?
“Mr. Gorbachev, Tear down this wall!” was Reagan, in 1987, commemorating the 750th anniversay of the city of Berlin.

The Halos
are really in a pinch here.
Option 1: Tex a Boras client known for dragging things on.
Option 2: Manny (See above)
When I'm not at the stadium, I'd rather be watching my Halos back in Costa Rica!

Let the record show
Don-Rom believes the Angels would be remiss if they missed out on Man-Ram.
For whats its worth, I’m with ya.

I've been reading the Yankees are now interested!
Or is that another Boras marketing ploy?
I was uncool before uncool was cool.

If the Yanks are seriously interested...
Call Cashman. Offer arms for A-Rod, to drop out of the Tex bingo game. We move our proposed cash to A-Rod. The Yanks move their current cash to Tex. In fact, the Yanks can then afford to top any/all bidders and reset their infield with fresh defense and power. The Yanks beat out Boston. We spend our coin on a new 3B. Acuda is ecstatic because this opens 1B for whats-his-name…
Francisco Rodriguez: 2006 to Present: 149 saves. 5 Panthers. As fabulous as Pride, Romero, Gregg, Budde and Dino Ebel combined.

Bad Feeling.
I have this bad feeling that the Angels are going to pass/miss on all of the FAs out there. Then, the organization will say, we are completely satisfied with our current team.

No Tex no Manny, then I want nothing
Maybe Sheets on a one year deal. The unit on a one year deal. Fuentes at the reported 2 year $18 mil contract that the STL is offering. that is it.

Ben Sheets
If the price is right, I think he is worth the gamble. The thought of a big 3 of Lackey, Santana, and a healthy Sheets would just dominate.

Bad Blood between Teixera and BoSux
The One That Got Away!
Evidently Blaah-ston drafted Teix in the 9th round of the 98 draft out HS but was unable to sign him due to too few dollars offered. Mark went on to Georga Tech and ended up being drafted 1st round, 5th overall & signed with Texas.
The following article describes a recent meeting between Teix & the Sux to heal the 10 year rift. Perhaps Teix doesn’t really want to play there after all.

Add an option year or two
I’d still like to see the Angels increase their offer (a little) to get this done. An option year is reasonable. But, not an opt-out clause. Then we’ll have a repeat of the A-Rod drama.

This is not a free agent negotiation
But full on racketeering, by Mr. Bora$, I am almost certain that the Halos won’t get Tex, but even if we do..at what cost? I’m reminded of those modern day poets, Motley Crue, don’t go away mad, just go away. Shall we entertain offers from the other FA’s now, or continue our focus on Tex?

More East coast bias (aka ESPN)
The article is supposed to be about Teix and the O’s, but look at the word count…
“Baltimore”- 3 times
“Los Angeles”- 3 times
“Boston”- 4 times
“Angels”- 4 times
“Orioles”- 5 times
Red Sox- 7 times
I think the spell-check on their word processors highlights misspelled words like “Angles” and “Los Angeles” and suggests replacements like “Red Sox”
