Contract Extension For Vlad?
Looking at the Free agent bidding war process, and how uncertain it can be, I would like to see Vladimir Guerrero under contract beyond next season before he becomes a free agent. I feel like this might be getting lost in the shuffle.
1. He is the Most entertaining player on the team! I love watching him hit, he has serious Style.
2. He is my girlfriend's favorite player (and mine)
3. Teix is great and all, but he is boring, and proving that he is all about the $$ , those are not qualities that make someone a favorite player.
4. One "down" year and he's "in decline"? C'mon, look at Manny's 2007. With his health on the upswing, and him entering a contract year, he is poised to prove to the world that he is still an MVP . He's still has seasons of excellence in him.
These are some of my thoughts, what d'you think?

we all know Vlad wants to stay here
however, i think fans and management are curious to see how the knee is going to react to surgery before extending him. and personally, i think that’s the right route to take.
i have no doubts that if Vlad has a bounce-back year, he’ll be extended before he hits the open market.
Kotch would've had that.

judging by the dozens of children Vlad has
he seems to get extensions alot.
When I'm not at the stadium, I'd rather be watching my Halos back in Costa Rica!

#2 is the main reason why we should tender an extension

Halo for life
That’s right, I said it. I know, we’re all scared of his knees, and we have to be cautious. But for some inexplicable reason I have faith he’ll be back, and the first half of last year will be an abnormality.
Seriously – better than 300 since 1997and he’s “in decline”? I think not.
Increased DH role and I think he’s worth keeping around.

extend him
He will rake for years.
On another note, there is no evidence to support the notion that Teix is “all about the $$”. His agent (and everyone’s agent) wants to secure the most for his client. That’s business. If the Royals outbid everyone and he decided to go there, then that might raise suspicion. But so far he has shown nothing to indicate that all he wants is the most money.

Agreed
Choosing between the Red Sox and Angels does not look like a money grab to me either. Both teams are model franchises this decade.
This is the worst offseason in years. I do not even want to talk about it.

Or the Nationals, or the Orioles, we're talking a Boras client here, 200mil/10yrs?
He still hasn’t made up his mind? He looks at you and says “Who’s got the money!”

From the biggest Vladimir Guerrero fan alive , I would hope the Angels don’t let him get away.. Numbers stack up with anybody in the league . He is as good a hitter as you will get.. I do n’t believe in the decline , lets hope he gets back on track and healthy and puits up his usual numbers 4 the team.. Well said !
