Teix House in Westlake, Texas
FYI, Westlake has the highest per capita income in the U.S. (don't think too many people live there). In L.A. it's La Canada Flintridge, which comes in 7th, I believe. Many places in Maryland and Virginia have very high per capita incomes as well.
Just a question though. If Teix turned down $140 mill from Texas for 7 years and therefore they traded him to Atlanta, then what would make us think he would take $20 mill anywhere else for 8 years?

Interesting point. Makes you realize that until the trading dealine of 2007,
he was an established resident of Texas. He’s been using the U-Haul ever since………looking for place to drop it off.
I think part of the idea with rejecting Texas...
Is that Texas has no legitimate chance of winning in the next five to ten years, knock on wood, beyond possibly getting into the first round. Which is also what makes it essentially necessary for the Halos to give Teix good insurance that they’ll be making it past the first round with him on board for many years to come.
Light Up That Halo!
It's all about the money....
Like many entertainers with too much money, they live in states with ZERO state income tax. Texas does not have state income tax, so I suspect that’s at least a consideration in why he has a home in Texas.

Im pretty sure
that it was 140/8 years. That really makes it a different story, because 20 M would be about right what Tex was thinking he was gonna get (200M/10 years=20M/yr)
Lets go angels

Hey
that house is very nice. I say we get a Halos Heaven March all the way up to his front door. That will get him to stay here for sure.

Interesting neighborhood...
Teix has morecompetition there than in the FA market. Values are declining, apparently. I wish the same could be said of slick-fielding mashers.
Looks like there is some kind of exodus from that street Tough times indeed.

Top of the market
Seems like Teix bought at market high and would take a bath if he sold.
On a similar note wouldn’t it be something if the owners have had enough and the G.M.‘s will do a little of the illegal colluding (collusion), telling Mark and Boras that they’ve moved on.
The Angels seem to be posturing towards a 3 way trade resulting in the acquisition of first baseman Joey Votto from the Reds. The Red Sox really don’t need Mark, as they have Youkilis and Lowell. The O’s and Nats, well would acquiring Mark really make the team competitive? Is it really worth that kind of money if the Angels and Red Sox drop out of the bidding?
One should remember that Mark has never finished higher than 7th place in the MVP balloting. Fielding first base is probably the easiest of all infield positions. Just look at how much money Kotch makes. Teix’s fielding is not an upgrade.
So is this player really worth all that much?
The Angels are not getting Votto dude.
This is the worst offseason in years. I do not even want to talk about it.
Who up and made you the G.M.?
If the Angels can work a deal for a decent first baseman, then let them do it. Lets face it, Figgins is spent, and money talks. Do you think Figgins is gonna regain some foot or bat speed?
Yup, he's just a good 'ol boy, a regular Hank Hill
Sheee-it …… and you’re seriously entertaining the notion of becoming a Chowd? Just get over yourself, tell Boras to f-off, sign with the Halos, and the OC is YOURS.
You ever feel as if your mind had started to erode?
Homes for Sale
Interestingly, here’s a couple other Angel greats with homes on the market…
Steve Finley and Edgardo Alfonzo will forever be indelibly linked in the minds and scarred retinas of Angels fans throughout the Stoneman era.
Anyhoo, Teix’ and another baseball dweeb with far too much cash on their hands.
(Fin’, ‘Fonz, and Teix’ listings for prospective HH buyers.)
