G.A.: Green and Yellow?
What player in history looks the worst?
Wade Boggs in a Tampa Bay Devil Rays uni?
Troy Glaus in a Arizona Diamondbacks uni?
Will Ferrell as Atticus Finch?
Well, they might have some competition. Word on the street is Garrett Anderson will be wearing the green and yellow (and white shoes) of the Oakland A's.
Tough to imagine GA in another uniform besides the Halos, especially the not-so "El Guapo" uniforms of the A's.

They would never play him versus LHP over there, I guarantee you that. There have been a lot of players throughout history that have played for the A’s and Angels.

Well then, why don't we resign him, make him an angel for life?
Then we can have the same outfield as last year.
I hope he can get to a team and stay healthy and start for he next 3 years, to get to 3000 hits!. that would be awesome. then he’d go into the hall as an angel!

Ha! If GA wants 3000 hits, he'll have to find a sucker to let him play for 5 more years.

It would probably take him 3 - 3 1/2 years.
He had 163 hits last year, which was actually a down year for him historically (although up from injury plaged 2007). If he stays there, it is 3 1/2 years or so, so probably a good 4 seasons gets him to the magic 3000.
I, personally, hope he makes it. He has always been a loyal player for us, and good if not great. I like him and want to seem him do well.

He's averaged 147 hits per year for the last 5 years and he is currently 632 away from 3000.
To do it in 4 years, he’s going to have to average 158 hits per year. At his age and health history, I think that’s a stretch. Also, consider that whoever signs him will most likely realize that he should be a platoon player rather than a full-time player since he can’t hit left-handed pitching.

I still think he wouldn't make the HOF w/ 3000 hits.
He’d be the guy that gets excluded…
Or he should be – stupid writers would probably vote him in…

I'm going to be hurting for a long, long time about letting GA go
Going to the A’s would make it that much more painful.

GA sealed his fate when he publicly complained about the team not picking up his option and declared that his production at the option's price was a bargain.

Don't get me wrong, I like GA and always have.
But, if he’s going to be delusional about his production, should we really act like we wanted or needed him back? He appears to be unwilling to accept a role for which he’d be useful.

GA an A? No way.
Beane’s big on OBP and SLG, though the A’s finished last in the AL in both categories in 2008.
Some quick GA stats.
GA career #s in Oakland
387 ABs .323/.368/.470
GA career #s vs. the A’s
781 ABs .318/.361/.485
A solid .846 career OPS against the A’s. I wish GA good luck in 2009.

Yeah seriously.
He is the anti-athletic. Players on the A’s hit .230 with a .380 OBP, not .290 with a .320 OBP.

GA an A would make me want to shoot myself
I think he has more sense than that though. Hopefully if the A’s offer someone will at least match it, so he can turn the A’s down…thats much better.

GA to San Diego
Nothing of substance here, just a random guess of where he might end up.
He may add some ‘instant credibility’ to what looks like a rebuilding organization.
I would assume he knows Bud Black somewhat well from their days in Anaheim.
Raul Ibanez got a three-year deal from the Philadelphia Phillies and I wonder if GA gets a similar deal [not likely] or does he only get a one or two year deal from an interested team?
I’ve read/heard GA feels like he can still play 150 games without being DH’d – who knows if his body is up to it.

I'll say what I said on AN:
Do. Not. Want.
I’d bet either Buck or Sweeney could match Anderson’s .758 OPS of last year for much cheaper.

We'd love to see you relying again on players like
Buck and Sweeney; it worked so well for you last season.

doesn’t mean the A’s won’t sign him.
