A bunch of people on HH wanted to expand the trade an bring Greene in to help with SDs budget issues. But what if we unloaded a little bit more on our side and see if we can get Kouzmanoff. Then SD can put Headley back at 3B where he belongs.

Angels get: Peavy and Kouz

Padres get: Figgins, Mathis, Adenhart, Aybar or Kendrick, Loux, and an OF (Willits, GMJ + money, or someone from AAA).

Advantages for SD: They then get a draft pick when Figgins leaves. Bud Black probably had the same man crush on Mathis that Sosh does and their current C isn't any better with the bat than Mathis. I highly doubt they would take GMJ but I can wish, right?

Angels then have (in positional order): Naps, Morales, Kendrick/Aybar/Izturis, Wood/Izturis, Kouz, ___(LF)___, Hunter, Vlad, __(DH)___

Lackey, Peavy, Santana, Saunders, Weaver. You already know the bullpen, but I would like to see them sign Chad Cordero. He will be cheap coming off of injury, plus a bloated closer market. And he would like to play in Anaheim since he's a local boy. Give him a 2 year with an option or 2.

Ideally we then sign Tex and move Morales to DH/LF/RF. Either way, realistically GMJ is the left fielder whether we like it or not. I wouldn't mind bring in GA for another year or 2 bumping GMJ to 4th OF but it depends on the money.

If all that worked out (assuming SD takes Kendrick), Batting order is as follows.

Aybar, GA, Vlad, Tex, Hunter, Naps, Morales, Kouz, Wood

GMJ and Izturis could also bat lead off.

I know its a lot of IFs, but at least they are new IFs to think/talk about.
