Cal State Dominguez Hills won their 2nd Men's Division II Soccer National Championship this afternoon. The Toros defeated defeated Dowling University 3-0.The game was really never in question and was highlighted by some fantastic goals.
Congratulations to the Toros players and coaching staff, and their fans, family, and alumni.

The same soccer pitch that David Beckham calls home.

Perhaps, but I'll bet he calls it a football pitch

Isn't soccer that game
where everyone pretends to be hurt so that they can be carried off the field on a stretcher?
Every time I see one of these Euro NBA guys flopping around the court like a gaffed fish on a boat deck, I think of soccer… I can’t help it.
Now, put Chris Pritchett at first, Bobby Rose at second, Pete Coachmen at third, and let's go win.

I thought it was basketball
Especially Vlade Divacs.
I once saw a T given in a college hoops game for “bad acting”. Actually, it was for “delay of game”, but it was because of the guy’s exaggerated flop.

I wish there were more of those given.

Of course it was...
only once, and it was about 20 years ago. Don’t even remember the teams playing.

And, yes, Vlade was among the worst...
maybe even the father of the flop.

You're thinking of the Spaniards and Italians
Whose games I can’t stand to watch because it’s just a cavalcade of flopping around, grabbing their knees and making that face. Then they hop off the field, spray their legs with Lysol (or something) and lo! they’re healed!
I prefer Bundisleague, (particularly Bayern – though I still miss the Caveman) where they may be fouling each other all over the place and getting yellow cards like mad, but at least they’re not all flopping around making faces (with the exception of Luca Toni).

I'm still patiently awaiting the return of l'OM
to championship form. It’s been a long wait, but Marseille deserves a winner.

Bayern are a fairly average team
…a pretty poor league in European terms
