Peavy to Cubs?
There are swirling rumors all over Philly that Peavy is going to the Phillies for minor league pitchers and in turn the Phillies would trade Peavy to the Cubs for Mark De Rosa.
The move covers the Phillies butt in case Utley doesn't get back in time for the season opener at second base as well as hints that they'll be putting De Rosa in left and not be offering Burrell a contract.
Once again, this is just a rumor...but it sounds like it is close. The only thing that I haven't heard about is the fact that the Cubs want to off Marquis in the deal too to make room for Peavy's salary. There are probably some loose ends still being tied up.
Just thought I would pass it along.

marquis
i think marquis would be a good fit for the dodgers. minus lowe, penny, maddux, probably schmidt, and maybe billingsley, that leaves kuroda, kershaw. mcdonald would seem to maybe get a chance, but clearly, the need exists…
i’m not a dodger hater, and grew up rooting for both. loretta and blake is painful to watch, anf if there is any truth to the cano for kemp rumors, it ain’t shapin’ up too well…

How does that make sense?
I know that the Phillies are looking to get a utility player/insurance on Utley but why would they trade the type of players it takes to get Jake Peavy, only to end up with Mark DeRosa? Wouldn’t they be better off just keeping Peavy instead?

No, the Phillies would be the third team in the three team trade potentially
In one potential trade, the Phillies would send young left-handed pitcher J.A. Happ to San Diego.

Teixeira............Everything else can wait.
