Japan's Kawakami?
Yahoo Japan has reported that we are interested in Kenshin Kawakami, a 33 year old right hander from Japan. The article from the Angels website says he has the best cut fastball in Japan, and has won the Sawamura Award, which is basically a Cy Young. I think we should take a chance on him. It says he would probably cost about 6-7 million, almost half of what Garland cost us (12 million) last year.
Here's a video too. I'm not sure what it says or what language they speak in it because the sound is broken on my computer...

can't hurt to try him
but how many years is he looking for? 2? 3?
i’d take the risk.
Kotch would've had that.

we could always take a look at him in the WBC
but then again if he does too good, other teams will want in too
Mr Moreno,
Please re-sign Tex.

Hiroki Kuroda
never was a superstar in Japan but he was a solid guy and he filled in nicely for the Dodgers. Kuroda was better than Garland IMO.

no
unless we sign him cheap and think he might have huge upside, then no way. save our money. we have enough 5th starter candidates. with our top 4 i’m comfortable.
