Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

Wednesday Spring Thread

1:05 PM Cactus League Action

Royals @ Angels

Luke Hochevar V. John Garland

This was the game I was supposed to be at until life intervened, but hey, I got a new website out of the deal, what the hay...

Pregame-Gasm Guesses

1. How many runs will the Angels score?

2. How many hits will Vladimir Guerrero have?

3. How many total Catchers will appear behind the plate for the Angels in today's game?

And we will see if scottnak can upload the "GASM" results as a stand-alone post with the new tech!

MORALES & Picks

From Laangels.com

The Angels hitter who most impressed Peavy was first baseman Kendry Morales, who smacked an 0-2 slider into right for an RBI single following Erick Aybar's RBI triple and Robb Quinlan's single that started the first-inning uprising.

"You know who I like in that lineup? Morales," Peavy said. "The kid can hit. I made a pretty good pitch to him. That's the only time I tried to put someone away, and I didn't."

Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would sure love to see them somehow unload GMJ and give Juan and Kendry his at bats

thsi team would be sooo much better if they did that.

I am a fair weather fan so the Angels better win!

by Halo84653 on Mar 12, 2008 10:17 AM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

kendry needs the ABs on this team

with all the complaining about lack off power... the answer is right in front of us, sitting on the bench.

he should be playing LF/RF next year, and they should really think about working him out at 3B again. the guys is raking right now. he could easily be a .300/25/100 guy.

I Say

What's the scouting report on Royals' SP Hochevar? He's a Bora$ client who (unlike Jered Weaver) listened to his master and delayed his career for a chance at a bigger signing bonus. He probably would be a fixture in the Dodgers' rotation by now if he had signed.

I just saw it on MSNBC

It had something to do with a violent collision at the plate incident that happened the day before. That's all they said. Looked like a lot of pushing and shoving and a few punches thrown.

That's because

he's talking less.

Hoping Ervin Santana turns it around in Salt Lake. Go, Ervin!

by scareduck on Mar 12, 2008 4:10 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Maybe not his career

He's got a lot to learn, and so far hasn't shown much ability to learn it. On the other hand, Wood is exactly the type of hitter the Angels are least likely to be able to fix (free-swinging power hitter).

Hoping Ervin Santana turns it around in Salt Lake. Go, Ervin!
