I get my computer back from the repair shop this afternoon, so posting should be more frequent beginning soon. Thanks to Missus Halofan for renting me macintosh access cheap.
Pregame-Gasm Guesses
1. How many batters will Ervin Santana allow to reach base?
2. Which team will score first?
3. Yes or No: Will any pitcher from either team strike out the side?

With everything that is going on with athletes - guys who don't want to honor contracts, drugs, race problems - Here's a kid who is just about playing playing baseball. It reminds you that to some people it is still a game.

BTW
Anyone know how to get a valid link to the gameday for yesterday's game? For some reason it's not working out for me. (And then, can't tell when the DPs took place yesterday) Unless someone can answer that. From the comments I THINK I can infer that it was 0, but I'd like concrete proof.
Chart it up! Game on!
This is the proper link...
but it isn't working...

That's weird...
when I use my own "a href=" code, it makes the link go back to the http://www.halosheaven.com/2008/3/14/269607/friday-game-thread
let's try using SBNation's hyperlink option in this edtor
test
Ok, that one works.

Allow?
I don't think he will "allow" anyone to reach safely. But I think a few will get on, maybe more than a few with this fool pitching.
I don't do well on the guesses, so... Angels vs Dumpster? Angels by 7!

Oh Ervin......
Could be work, could be baseball...but I got Spring Fever!!!!!
our lineup
Izturis, SS
Kendrick, 2B
Guerrero, RF
Kotchman, 1B
Napoli, C
Brown, D, LF
Wood, 3B
Haynes, CF
Santana, P
You know what I like?
Kendrick in the 2 hole. Granted this is kind of a strange lineup, but maybe it means Scioscia is thinking about trying some things.
Wake me up on opening day.
I like that too
hopefully, this will become a trend.
his .340 average is look great in that 2 slot.
by howiestheman on Mar 14, 2008 1:15 PM PDT up reply actions
except he doesnt walk
you want patient hitters hitting in front of vlad. Howie is awesome, but he cant walk to save his life. Hes a run producer, not a table setter. In other words, unless he IS hitting .340, his OBP will be weaker than other guys could be. Not saying matthews is great, but he can take a walk and has speed. If howie can develop some sort of discipline hed be the ideal 2 hitter but until then, im happy with him not thinking too much and just keep doing what works for him.

Hunter not in the lineup?
Was he "suspended" for forgetting his jersey (JOKE)? I read in the times and register that he had to borrow Dee Brown's #32 jersey for the 1st at-bat until the equipment lackeys could bring his #48 to the game.
LATE
4 Angels No
Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Napoli hammers a triple.
Knocks home Kotchman (hope his sore leg is getting better).

Crap
What the heck is going on with Santana? I think I'm starting to side with goodvibes61 on this one. Yeah, it's spring, but it's high time for him to show some balls other than the ones he throws. Escobar needs to get healthy, and soon.

I'm with you
The "It's only Spring Training" mantra only goes so far. He hasn't shown anything to make anyone think he's turned it around.
We'll be fine.

I've been so high on Santana
Continuing to say "give him time..." but yeah, wow. He's sucked.
Wake me up on opening day.
He's the Dallas McPherson of pitchers...
how many more chances can we give him? Granted, it is spring.

I wouldn't be surprised
Brandon Wood has shown no ability to cut down on his strikeouts for any extended period of time.
Hoping Ervin Santana turns it around in Salt Lake. Go, Ervin!
HK and Napoli first triples today.
"We're still in the information-gathering process," Reagins said.
Kotch with a walk...
Here comes a Napoli HR... come on...
Piniella pulls Dempster.
Wake me up on opening day.
are you behind or ahead of 44fan?
Napoli was just listed as getting a 3B and you are rooting for an HR. Can he go for a first inning cycle? ;)

Just get here
and next thing I know Santana's getting knocked around.
At this rate, he'll be on for another stint at AAA.
Hoping Ervin Santana turns it around in Salt Lake. Go, Ervin!
K for Nipples.....
Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As Vinnie would say
From the penthouse to the doghouse.
Hoping Ervin Santana turns it around in Salt Lake. Go, Ervin!
Dust storm, windy conditions?
You're out in the middle of the desert Hud!

That was Terry
Hud's not in the booth today.
We'll be fine.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
If I hear the word "red sox"...POW!!! RIGHT IN THE KISSER!!!
D Brown singles,
Wood K's, Haynes K's (passed ball, D moves to 2nd), Santana K's. 6-3 Angels still.
Wake me up on opening day.

Santana...
this is not encouraging at all. I understand the whole "It's only spring training" part; but he hasn't had ONE outing that is even remotely positive.
i agree
he's giving everybody absolutley no reason to trust him and think he's going to be better this year.
he's really making the organization look stupid... actually, management is making themselves look stupid.

Santana settling down?
Two zero frames so far after the rough 1st.
Hoping Ervin Santana turns it around in Salt Lake. Go, Ervin!
And he whiffs Hank White
looking for the first out of the fourth. Nice.
Hoping Ervin Santana turns it around in Salt Lake. Go, Ervin!
Santana K's Patterson swinging, inning over
Looking better for Santana...
Wake me up on opening day.
Dee Brown broken bat groundout to 2nd.
Inning over. Does Santana get another?
Wake me up on opening day.
Derrek Lee with a triple off the wall in center
There's the Santana we remember!
Wake me up on opening day.
Santana K's Aramis, but Napoli let it by him
Still got Aramis at 1st, but Lee scores from 3rd.
Wake me up on opening day.
Just got a chance to peek at the game today
so I couldn't venture any picks this morning...
I was hoping to see some good news about Ervin today, but apparently not. Bummer. Not good at all. No matter what some others said about this being spring, I'm extremely worried if he's a major part of the plan...
Totally agree
This is his third outing, I believe. It's not like he hasn't been pitching for 6 months - he was pitching fine in winterball. Apparently, that is much easier than MLB.
Kotchman takes the last one himself for the out.
Should be the end of Ervin's day.
Wake me up on opening day.
Dick Wood in the Gap?
Yikes...a xxx post.

Not germane to this game, but
I just noticed the Rally Noodle (4/9 giveaway) is not mentioned in the complete list of stuff you get when you send a check for $70 to get the full giveaway box. I am Disappointed.
Hoping Ervin Santana turns it around in Salt Lake. Go, Ervin!
What is this
"if Casey Kotchman wins that starting job at first," Fizz?
Hoping Ervin Santana turns it around in Salt Lake. Go, Ervin!
Whoa, foul ball hit Alex Cintron on deck
Near the face. He's apparently laying face down in the on deck circle. Attending to him now...
Wake me up on opening day.
Check swing foul hits Cintron
right in the face. Cintron was on deck... there are places where helmets aren't helpful.
Hoping Ervin Santana turns it around in Salt Lake. Go, Ervin!
Walking off with assistance
He's done for the day.
Hoping Ervin Santana turns it around in Salt Lake. Go, Ervin!

Morales fields ground out, flips to DO'D for the out.
O'Day continues to impress!
Wake me up on opening day.
Hey Dee Brown is in a Halo's cap now...
on his MLB profile. Much better than that green and gold garbage
Alright out of here for the day
Middle of the 8th, Angels still up 6-5. Let's go Halos!
Wake me up on opening day.
hasnt he been a little iffy so far this spring?
or was that Bulger?
by howiestheman on Mar 14, 2008 3:17 PM PDT up reply actions
OK, Thompson needs a DP
to end the game...man on 1st, 1 out (i deduce from this info from the Physsinator).
Heck of a throw by Bobby Wilson
Right on the money.
