DMac Update from yahoo sports:
"Third baseman Dallas McPherson, meanwhile, is doing limited baseball activities as he recovers from a sore groin.
McPherson said he is running fine, but he is in the process of seeing how he feels in all-out sprints.
In a camp where he has been hampered by an oblique and now a groin problem, McPherson likely will open the season at Triple-A Albuquerque."
Acuda, I replied to you since you are one of the only others (besides me) who cares about what McPherson does. He has only one hit in ST, that one HR he hit. Only 15AB's.

My Picks
10 Ks for Angel pitchers
3 ks for Harden
The Angels will get at least two HR today: GA and Rivera
8 2 GA!
Also, If you guys want, I set up a March Madness tourney pick 'em group! Join it
And damn awesome, The autorefresh thing just happened now. Too cool.
Chart it up! Game on!
Curfew?
That's lame. The A's have to catch a plane to Japan so there's a curfew. Terry said they might not get 9 innings in.
We'll be fine.
Ass get a leadoff triple
but Santana strikes out the next two, and gets out of the inning with a popout (after allowing a walk). No runs. No score through 4.
12:05 start today
Top of the 5th already.
We'll be fine.

This is a baseball bad hair day.

2-0 Halos
heading to the bottom of the 6th. I didn't hear how the first run scored (Matthews drove in Aybar, somehow). Second run scores after a pair of doubles (Kotchman, followed by Kendrick) and a Sac fly by Bobby Wilson (Kotch was too slow to score from 2nd on Howie's double, especially after he mis-read the ball).
Whenever hud and terry are in the booth
we need to start making pre-game guesses for how many times terry gives a blank reply to Hud's statements or cuts him off during meaningless stories. Hud is awful yet i can never stop listening to him.
That sure sounds professional
of Terry.

Santana Kicks Ass ...
During a road day game! Alert the media!
Solid outing for the young man.

Gameday slow...
I don't think, though, that Shields gave up a run, did he? MLB's main page now says top 9 and it is still ZERO for the A's.

Yes
he did. It was in a minor league game. Terry & Hud were talking about it. Apparently, he was very wild.
Ah, thanks for that...
Didn't realize that there was another game going on.

one of the more overlooked things this spring: matthews is playing pretty well. whether or not that means anything is up for debate, but its good to see him contributing and be free of all the distractions of last year.
heres to hoping he is a solid #2 hitter in front of vlad
He's gonna...
have a monster year by our standards based on the simple fact that he will see alot of fastballs. That spot made Cabrera look like an above average hitter.
I really want to see what HK47 could do there, his numbers would be scary.
i completely agree
Howie would be very scary in the 2 slot. can you imagine all of the hits?
by howiestheman on Mar 19, 2008 3:13 PM PDT up reply actions
eh
i always say this, but howie doesnt walk. youd like someone with high OBP hitting #2 and while matthews hit for a shitty average last year (in the 4 and 5 spots), he can walk and was doing so a lot when he was at the top of the order.
howie i believe leads the team in ABs this spring and has 1 walk.
unless his average is ridiculous, his OBP will never be THAT great. I see him as a run producer, not as a table setter
by ihearhowie2.0 on Mar 19, 2008 3:55 PM PDT up reply actions
so where do you see him in the lineup?
at number 3?
he needs to be toward the top of the lineup, that much i know.
