Halfway down the list, click on "KLAA"

Right now it's asking for a password, but it wasn't yesterday.  Might just have to wait for the game to really start.

Wake me up on opening day.

by 101halo on Mar 2, 2008 12:03 PM PST up reply actions

Away game, maybe?
Does the free audio only apply to home games?

I was alright with this as a solution unlike some people, but not if it's not going to work.

Wake me up on opening day.

by 101halo on Mar 2, 2008 12:06 PM PST up reply actions

stupid.
Press Release, states that ALL remaining Cactus League Angel games will be free.

So, what this means, is that someone screwed up.  Figures.

Wake me up on opening day.

More of the same
way to be on the ball with covering  kLAA radio games. Im sure theres never issues with the guys who pay to get shows on KLAA

by SFV88 on Mar 2, 2008 12:14 PM PST up reply actions

For the last time...
Those were contracts that have yet to expire since Arte bought the radio station.  Give the station a year or so, and then judge the programming/scheduling.  It's just like company executives:  they're generally given a year's free pass to learn the business, and to get everything in order.  Arte can't just void those contracts, he has to let them expire, then choose whether or not to renew them.

That said, the free gameday audio was a good compromise to be able to allow fans to still hear the games live.  It is just rather annoying that they didn't get it right.

Wake me up on opening day.

by 101halo on Mar 2, 2008 12:21 PM PST up reply actions

I agree with you ...
I'm fine with the free gameday audio as a compromise ... it's so frustrating that they didn't (haven't still) gotten it right.
With win-win-win, we all win!

by lightupthehalo on Mar 2, 2008 12:23 PM PST up reply actions

contract???
When the contracts were signed did they not know Baseball would start?
  1. someone screwed up and didnt realise then conflict.
  2. and most likely they knew of a conflict but they saw dollar signs over fans being upset.
Either way not a way to run a flagship station of a MLB club.

by SFV88 on Mar 2, 2008 12:30 PM PST up reply actions

They were signed PRIOR to Arte buying the station
Buying a radio station means you have to ride out any current contracts the previous owner has made.  It's not that complicated.
Wake me up on opening day.

by 101halo on Mar 2, 2008 12:32 PM PST up reply actions

Seriously
this is getting ridiculous.

They send out an email to Halo Nation with a HUGE graphic "ALL REMAINING SPRING TRAINING GAMES FREE"!!!  They quickly squashed the outcry that we caused when the games weren't readily available by promising us this solution .... and now, nothing?

No where on the Angels homepage is a link, an easy transition, a mention of listening to the games free online.  (Mentions listening to games online, but all links take you to the purchase Gameday Audio page).  It's like they're trying to sweep it under the carpet.

With win-win-win, we all win!

by lightupthehalo on Mar 2, 2008 12:22 PM PST up reply actions

Worst part
Is that I miss baseball enough that I just said screw it and ponied up the $15 for the subscription.  Which is basically rewarding them for screwing up.  Oh well, I suppose it'll be useful at work, haven't figured out if I get 830AM there yet.
