Changing #s

I just saw the new roster and saw a couple people changed numbers around.  Aybar is #2, Morales is #19, Rivera is #21, some of that was to accomodate Garland for #20 I think.  I always wanted a Howie Kendrick jersey when he first came up, but I always kind of figured he'd some day change off of 47, and then I would buy whatever number he changed to.  Does anyone know why Howie likes 47?

Change???

Don't know why he would. Happens to be my favorite number, and it works well as a nickname for the guy.

My softball uni is #47

Had it for years. Here's why.

Yeah, I'm a geek. Deal with it.

Of course, now that HK47 is using 47, that's another reason to keep it.

Just seems like an odd number for a second baseman to me. Just like Aybar getting assigned to 32 last year, but now switched to 2. Just figured he always would switch, he didn't wear 47 for any of the minor league teams did he?

Kendrick is 47

He is waiting for Figgy's #9.

Well he wore 4 in Salt Lake, I don't know if maybe there's a coach that wears 4 or something. And I hope Figgins is wearing that #9 for a long time too. Sorry I'm commenting a lot, but I'm just big on numbers. Math major and everything.

Alfredo Griffin is #4

And he is #4 as a legend in the Dominican Republic - Miguel Tejada wears #4 to honor Alfredo, so that number is staying put.

That explains it. So I guess 47 is around to stay for a while for HK. Tejada wears 10 though, 4 was retired by Earl Weaver in Baltimore, and I'm pretty sure he's sticking with 10 for the Astros.
