Honestly

Isn't it about time you address the team by its name?

Sea-at-ha-ha-ha that's funny.

You are joking right?

I mean, who in the world gives a d-mn whether they are the LA Angels, Califrornia Angels, Anaheim Angels, or LA Angels of Anaheim?

I suppose I should never have called the hockey team the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, but rather the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, , and now the Anaheim Ducks.

Please. This is how you get your kicks?

Tom, you are on a nerve

When all of baseball punditry mocks the name ...and it has... at some point the base mocks back.

Are you not one to hold others to the finer points?

Easy there Tango...

a simple "shush" would have sufficed.

Shopping for a new signature, but ran out of money...

To be honest

I am not joking. The team changed its name. I have already admitted it is ridiculous, but it is annoying when the media and bloggers keep refusing to address them by their name.

The Dodgers pretty much epitomize this.

You site is a legitimate baseball site, one which puts forth many valid and interesting points. I figured you had moved on.

EVEN the Dodgers now address us

as LAA on their scoreboards.

Funny when the people who point out how obtuse people are turn out to be obtuse and defensive as well.

The behavior

of Dodgers management and ownership perplexes me.

we just thought you wanted to appear

knowledgeable about baseball, since you run a baseball site. that's all.

Other blogs

(Did somebody delete my last post?)

http://lanaheimangelfan.blogspot.com/

That's a blog by an Angels fan.

How about getting on these guys:
http://www.angelsdugout.com/

All I did was put "Anaheim Angels" in the link.

Incredible!

lanaheimangelfan

is a blog by an angels fan.

You are trying to be a knowledgeable baseball person. You don't seem knowledgeable when you don't know what a team is called.

Previous post

I had mentioned that the official name is:

Les Canadiens de Montreal

French Canada lives with the anglicized name.

It's Le Stade Olympique.

And, isn't it the Oakland Athletics?

by tangotiger on Mar 26, 2008 6:51 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Les Canadiens de Montreal

Is French. Their official English website lists the team name as the "Montreal Canadiens." The NHL refers to them as the Montreal Canadiens. MLB refers to Angels as the Los Angels Angels of Anaheim. Bad comparison.

Sea-at-ha-ha-ha that's funny.

Ducks

And what about the Ducks?

And what about those two Angel-centric sites?

Why go after my webpage that has a single innocent link about the Angels, and not go after the above?

by tangotiger on Mar 26, 2008 4:09 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Ducks

I call them by their name, the Anaheim Ducks. What about them? The new owner got rid of their retarded Disney movie tie in name? What is your point? Frankly I do not even watch hockey.

Those Angel Centric sites, one of which is properly titled since it has not been updated since they were the Anaheim Angels, (Notice the periwinkle pinstripes) are FAN sites. I get the feeling you are trying ( & succeeding) to have to a high brow blog that provokes thought on baseball. Properly addressing 30, not 29, teams by their name is part of that.

I did not go after your website. You posted a fanpost here I looked at the link and pointed out you might might want to correct the name. Hardly an inquisition.

Sea-at-ha-ha-ha that's funny.

Given his response to your innocent post...

i wonder if I can withdraw my votes at that site...

This whole thing is ridiculous

He frankly has not made a point or responded to any as far as I can tell.

Sea-at-ha-ha-ha that's funny.

by hauldog on Mar 26, 2008 9:06 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I agree, this whole thing is ridiculous. I had "Anaheim Angels" in a link, and that's it. I made no other mention of the team anywhere.

Like I said in the beginning: who gives a d-mn?

by tangotiger on Mar 27, 2008 10:24 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Btw, rereading the initial post, if I take it as "friendly advice", my reaction was unwarranted. If I take it as "yet another indignant Angel fan who has to set the record straight every time he gets", my reaction was fairly muted.

You can certainly read it either way. However, the benefit of the doubt should go to the original poster; so I should have asked your intent instead of instantly being annoyed.

by tangotiger on Mar 27, 2008 10:30 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Cool.

Let's put this thing to bed. Originally my intention was a suggestion. I still stand my complimentary statements about your blog.

Sea-at-ha-ha-ha that's funny.
