Opening Day Roster
The Halos have finalized their opening day roster. Biggest surprise, IMHO, is Jason Bulger. The guy had a fairly middling spring, but I guess they decided to go with him rather than add another guy to the 40-man, which probably would have been Nick Adenhart. Plus, this way, Adenhart gets to pitch every 5th day, which is important for his continued development.
We also see that Darren O'Day and Rich Thompson made the team; no real surprise there, as they both had solid springs. During the broadcast tonight, it was intimated that Shields may be back off the DL as early as the home opener, so one of those three may be headed back to SLC within the week. Also, Bootcheck is supposedly ready to start throwing again, and could be back before the end of April as well.
I'm disappointed that Kendry Morales didn't make the team; I really don't think Robb Quinlan is better, except that Quinlan provides more defensive versatility, and I guess that's important. As expected with the departure of Nathan Haynes, Reggie Willits made the team.

APRIL 6
Shields and Bootcheck are eligible to come off the DL On Sunday April 6. Look for two of the O'Day/Bulger/Thompson trio to be demoted then.
Kendry needs to play every day, that is the only good thing about him being in AAA...

True but the only way he will START is if we DONT sign Anderson this year.....
Other than that he is screwed. Unless Kotch goes down again (Hope not).
I still think Anderson is going to get hurt and Matthews will take over at LF leaving the DH spot for Vlad/Morales/Rivers to rotate
Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We won't re-sign G.A.
And, we might try to trade GMJ as soon as his no-trade goes away.

Na Quin is a waist of roster spot.....
Morales could have DH'ed
Quin can play what....3B,1B and Corner OF? 1B is Kotchs and if he cant hit LHP then Rivers. 3B is for Figgins and Izturis/Aybar could back him up. Plus Brown is more than capable. And OF...We have Rivera/Matthews and Willits.
What the hell do we need quinlan For?

absolutely nothing.
i was really hoping we'd get rid of him.. K-Mo needs to be on the big league roster.
I'm glad he's playing every day, but i wish he was playing every day for the MLB team.
Oh well... as stated earlier, when we don't resign GA this year, he'll play every day next year, between 1B/LF/RF/DH.
Bring up Wood!!!
