Stanley Cup
Ducks v. Stars
Tonight the Ducks go for the repeat as champions of the NHL.
Ducks in 6.
I watched Raging Bull yesterday.
Imagine if the Halos had their full rotation. Baseball Tonight is terrible. I don't like it. No insight, jsut a lot of speculation that more often is wrong than accurate.
Why do baseball players always add "y" when referring to their teammates: Shieldsy, Escy, Ersty, Revvy, Cupiey, Yeswecany, Kotchy and so on.
"Secondary lead" is spewed from Gubicza's mouth more than any other phrase. 5 times in one inning?

What does CHOMPO think of Saturday Morning Television compared to when he was a kid?

the Kings are in the playoffs
The Steve Stamkos playoffs. And I think they're gonna lose in those, too.
My poor Kings. One of these days they'll almost be as good as the Northeastern Huskies.
Northeastern University Huskies: Mediocre hockey, guaranteed.

ESPN
I agree about no insight. baseball tonight always ignores the angels and never picks them to win. They are also terrible about not using HD footage of the Angels highlights.
With everything that is going on with athletes - guys who don't want to honor contracts, drugs, race problems - Here's a kid who is just about playing playing baseball. It reminds you that to some people it is still a game.

For One Series
The Kings fans need to be rooting for the Ducks. The Kings have Dallas' first round pick.

here in north dakota
all the hockey meat heads put "ski" on the end of everything they say to make it sound "cool." they order a "dewski" to drink with their lunch, they go out and pound a bunch of "beerskies" on the weekend, they drive "carski" to work, and "jerkski" each other off in the locker room, for all i'm concerned.
this area of the country has such a huge hockey boner (my hometown, grand forks, especially. anyone see north dakota lose 6-1 to boston college in the frozen four yesterday? i love it.) that it forces me to hate the sport of hockey. you should see the girls that some of these toothless meatheads get around here. it makes me sick.
i need to stop thinking about hockey before i punch a hole in the wall.

i was at the game 2 days ago
ducks played horribly. they need some energy, as they came up completely flat, and played listlessly after about 10 minutes

yea, its time for giggy ....
to show why he has been one of the 3 most dominate playoff goaltenders of the past decade (Brodeur and Roy joining him). Also, hopefully Perry is back and will help get our offense back on pace. Being down 0-2 and coming back is what champions are made of and what it is going to take for this dynasty in the making to reveal itself. GO DUCKS!

Game Three
Looking a lot more promising for the Ducks.
3-0 thus far in the first period.

Ducks win!
4-2
got a little wacky in the 3rd, but the ducks held on to win.
gotta get another win in Dallas.

Game 4 Tonight
It looks like Cory Perry might be suiting and playing tonight.
hopefully this will mean more offense… and fellas please stay out of the penalty box.
by cupie on Apr 17, 2008 2:16 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
with cory perry back that will be HUGE
because with him we have 2 lines that are always a threat to score instead of the 1.5 lines we have now. Line 1 and 2 can be our great scoring lines and line three can be our defensive shut down line with clutch scoring just like last year.
Line 1:Chris Kunitz-Ryan Carter-Teemu Selanne
Line 2: Cory Perry-Ryan Getzlaf-Todd Bertuzzi
Line 3: Samuel Pahlsson-Todd Marchant-Travis Moen
Has anyone heard any updates on Rob? I know he didn’t even fly to Dallas, but can be back for game 5?

Let's hope that Cory makes...
a huge jamming super duper impact in the game in the positive for the Ducks.

Snicker
If I sound like a dick, it’s only because I’m being a dick. But isn’t it funny how the Kings sucked so bad all year, and yet they only had two fewer playoff wins than the Mighties? Me think funny!
GO KINGS!
(And yes I recognize the absurdity in mocking a team that actually HAS won a Stanley Cup, while the team I hype has not, with the advantage of 27 additional years of existence as well as being led at one time by the greatest player to ever touch the ice. So save it.)

are you serious
the kings finished last in the western conference for the second straight year and haven’t made the playoffs in over 5 years. Meanwhile, the ducks in the last 5 years have been to 3 of the 4 conference finals, been with in 1 game of winning a cup twice (winning it once). The kings have no hope for change in their near future while nothing says the ducks won’t continue to make the playoffs. This is like a Texas Rangers fan saying they won as many playoff games as the Angels last season so that means they are just as good as the Angels.

Relax
It was a joke. I thought the absurd, ironic tone, as well as the clarifying parenthetical would more than explain a fat. But I’m happy to verify it for the sensitive. Also, in an effort to continue my pomposity, I shall now quote myself:
If I sound like a dick, it’s only because I’m being a dick.
Furthermore, if a Texas Ranger fan told me they had won just as many playoff games as the Angels, I would assume it was an attempt to get under my skin, and therefore have a good chuckle at such a quip, knowing that my team was superior in every way. So although I take great pleasure in seeing the Ducks lose, I also acknowledge the fact that they are superior in every way, and remain a fine hockey club to root for.
But I hate them.
