PANTHER - Saunders was dealling again

If they drill Raul in every a bat next week, they M's are even worse. Whatever, nice win this afternoon, off to Texas.

Help the bullpen - Trade Quinlan and Pys
Go Angels!

Seattle: Sucks

Q: How Did We Win?

A: Seattle Sucks, when they have to scratch their #1 starter and run out a mop-up guy. Bedard starts that game and you're asking, "Q: How Did We Get Swept?"

by lemonverbena on Apr 14, 2008 8:46 AM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I don't know how many times this needs to be said

but you're not the only team in baseball short an ace right now. In fact, you weren't the only team in that SERIES short an ace. In fact, the Angels were short TWO aces for the series.

Which says nothing of the fact that:
1) Our ace(s) is missing more than just a start or two with his/their problems.
2) You traded for an injury prone #1 starter. You're getting an injury prone #1 starter.

Sorry Bedard's Hoo-Ha hurts

This guy might be the reason the phrase "man up" was coined. FYI last time he hurt his hip he missed a lot of time.

Sea-at-ha-ha-ha that's funny.

give it to joe

or maybe giving it to howie will bring good karma and he can heal quickly and get back to mashing

Nice to get a win

Not nice to have Kendrick get hurt

Get rid of Quinlan

Great early season win. Angels had to prevent the sweep.

All "homer" broadcasters are intolerable to opposing fans. The FSN Northwest announcers couldn't stop blowing each other over the fact that the M's took 2 out of 3. I miss NBC's 'Game of the Week' during the mid-80's when Costas and Kubek did a superb job of calling the game, rather than just cheerlead.

Ain't no stoppin' us now. We got the groove!

to be fair

taking 2 of 3 from the angels is a great accomplishment for seattle. i don't think ibanez can continue his tear next time...

Bob Costas

the biggest blow-hard, pretentious, idiot in sports broadcasting history. Not only is he unbearable to listen to, but I think I've forgotten more about baseball since I started writing this reply than he will ever know.

i'm really glad

we never traded Kotch. Panther of the first two weeks.

sweet win.

who would've thought pitching and not slugging would've been our problem?

by the way, that answer is aces.

"it's mind-bottling."

i should also add

that Aybar and Izturis make a good combo up the middle, and howie hurts himself eating breakfast. hmm, just saying.

Still, I wish I was here

come now

The Mariners aren't terrible. We're just inconsistent. You guys deserved the win today. If all of our guys were healthy and Bedard was on the mound, the game would have been a little more competitive. That's my take. Nice win today Halos.

Goes both ways

we probably don't lose one of our games if Lackey is pitching in it. Don't sell one side short just to make a point.

update on howie?

angelsbaseball.com

"Right before I got to second base," Kendrick said, having driven a gapper to right-center, "I tried to turn it on, and I felt the hamstring a little bit. I don't think it popped. I shut it down. Tomorrow I'll be able to tell how bad it is."

Oh, make no mistake

the M's aren't very good. The biggest Mariner honk can't dispute that. That said, don't make the mistake of thinking that the Angels are very good, either. Truth be told, they're not much different.

Both have major cogs injured (Lackey/Escobar vs. Bedard/Putz). Angels hit a bit better, M's pitch a bit better (except Potatoes). Both defenses are terrible.

These are not good teams, and this is not a good division. And fans of both teams better start realizing something quick: there is going to be a lot of bad baseball played in the AL West this season.

No one of the teams is good

That team also isn't the Mariners

Get rid of Quinlan

by edhoo on Apr 13, 2008 8:43 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Really?

What makes the Angels not a good team?

Is it their Major League leading batting average, and 5 runs/game average, and AL-leading 18 home runs?

Or maybe it's their patch-work rotation, short two aces, and still putting up a 3.91ERA without them?

WITHOUT our two best starting pitchers, and with an injured closer, we're still doing absolutely fine right now. Once they're back, I really don't exactly see where our team is terribly lacking. If the Mariners were ever going to create a chance for separation this year, it was when our aces were shelved. Instead, they chose to get swept by the Orioles in a 4 game series. Have fun swallowing that pill.

Sticky situation

I did not consider Izturis PR for HK to be considered "reaching 2nd safely". HK was the one that 'reached 2nd safely' and Izturis merely took his place afterwards. You can try to appeal to the Rev, but I unfortunately don't think that is worth a point.

Chart it up! Game on!

no point

what's up losers

wanted to check in after that 2-1 victory over the disney jokers this weekend go ahead and brag about that win today even though #1 bedard or beltre were not in the lineup.

ps-althemarinerfan-why do you give any credit to these jokesters? they are our rivals man, treat them as such!! they're frekkin losers and whiners

by theelebowski on Apr 13, 2008 8:34 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Wow no Beltre in the lineup

Such a huge loss

Oh wait

Get rid of Quinlan

by edhoo on Apr 13, 2008 8:41 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

and the same to you

only worse, no #1 Lackey OR #2 Escobar OR Hunter

the fact remains the same, the Angels are still ahead of the M's in the West, despite losing 2 of 3, and thats without our not 1, but 2 best starters on the DL

get over yourself..

Here's to another season of baseball! Angels in '08!

Thanks for the trolling effort

a) if the Angels are 'losers,' after winning 3 of the last 4 division titles, and 1 world series in the last 7 years, then what does that make the world-series-less Mariners, who haven't won a division since 2001?

b) you didn't have beltre? last i checked, he played in two of the three games...which says nothing of the fact that your team shouldn't exactly be reliant on ADRIAN BELTRE for offensive support.

c) you didn't have bedard? how cute. we didn't have escobar or lackey...our #1 and #2.

d) your team is behind us in the standings. again, if we're losers, I don't want to know where that puts the Mariners.

e) it's APRIL.
