Long Beach, CA

I grew up in OC and got to see Nolan, Carew, etc. Took a long break from the horrid Angels in the late ‘80s-most of the ‘90s. Got rejuvenated after meeting another lonely Angels fan in LA (the soon-to-be Rev) in 2000.

I live on Oahu.

I have family friends in Irvine, and they took us to an Angels game during one of our visits. The Halos won, 11-1 (chicken wings!), since then I’ve become a die-hard Angels fan.

I was born in Hawaii (Honolulu), so I get a silly pride about seeing folks from there on HH. I’m a total haoli culturally but of course I’d like to think of myself as a true kama’aina.

It can get confusing

Everyone who claims Guam as thier home are Guamanians. Chomorro’s are the indigenous group on Guam. Lots of Filipinos, white statesiders, korean, vietnamese, and others. I guess since I wasn’t born here, I consider myself more mainlander than Guamanian. My wife is Chomorro and Guamanian. Anyone born on Guam is a full fledged US citizen.

Chapman College 1974-1976

When I attended Chapman it was a college not a university. My last semester there (fall 1976) I lived in the Davis Apartments. Several years before I attended Chapman a football player died either in a game or a practice. His parents gave an endowment to Chapman College with the stipulation that there be no football team. It was not until this deceased player’s parents died that Chapman resurrected its football program. I recall during my first month at Chapman (September 1974) going to the Big A to see Nolan Ryan defeat Kansas City and the Chisox.

Currently I live and blog from east Orange. The nearest major intersection is Chapman and Jamboree. I have also blogged on Halos Heaven from Kathmandu (Nepal), Manali (India), Phoenix and Atlanta.

Right now? The isle of St. Martin

But usually, the District of Columbia (as of January). Previously, Los Angeles. Originally, the first proposed post-L.A. site for the L.A. Angels (Long Beach).

LA county

Barely. Claremont, on the edge of SB County, but luckily only 35 minutes from the Big A (w/o traffic).

C'mon Ninja - get us one more bat!

Over the air in the Conejo Valley. I believe the local cable companies there carry it as well.

Yeah, we get Channel 13 KCOP

I live Thousand Oaks and we even get the ones on the obscure channel Arte hooked up with last year to get the extra 10 games televised.

Yes, we get KCOP but KLAA sucks at night.

Very static-y. I do enjoy the “Sports Lodge” on 830 in the mornings.

Hollywood, CA

Got to love seeing vlad on every bus and various billboards around here. I also see more people wearing Angels hats around LA and the Valley.

With everything that is going on with athletes - guys who don't want to honor contracts, drugs, race problems - Here's a kid who is just about playing playing baseball. It reminds you that to some people it is still a game.

East side. I see Lackey, Weaver, Napoli, and Sheilds pouring they’re own beers @ Goat Hill all the time. Stinkiest bar in Newport!

i'd say the Helm, a couple doors down

also, the late, great Stag was torn down to make the Borders parking lot—otherwise that would win.

I go to school at UCSD, and I wish the Angel games weren’t blacked out on FSN down here dammit. I don’t get it, the games are broadcast on San Diego ESPN Radio 800 and i can sometimes get 830 down here, why couldn’t they show the Halos on FSN? Especially when the Padres are in their own league and have their own channel.

I wonder if there’s a way to get the games on television down here, any ideas?

Can see the fireworks (barely) on clear Big Bang Friday nights from my window. Definitely hear them regardless.

Again, the name gives it away. Spent my first 25 years in Westminster and have been going to games as long as I can remember. Moving back to So Cal when my lease is up in October… Unfortunately it will be late October and I will miss another World Series at the Big A. Oh well, guess I will have to wait till next year.
