Dunce cap Vlad

In case you missed the 11 o'clock news, there was a shot of Vlad sitting in the dugout with a makeshift dunce cap. It was a green Gator Aid drink cup upside down on top of his cap.

I'm wondering if he'll be traded for insubordination, as he continues renege the DH role. The swollen finger was B.S. How can management tolerate this? What will they do?

Ironic that Jose Guilen was in right field for the opponent.

You can’t be serious. Is this some sort of bizarro world mock thread?

By all accounts, Vlad gets more pure joy out of playing this child’s game than anyone else in the Major Leagues. To claim he was feigning injury to avoid the DH role is preposterous. He had to leave Wednesday’s game early because of the same injury.

Sosh gave him a day off to rest his finger because A) We need a healthy Impaler for this weekend’s divisional games and B) He’s career 1-13 against Tomko. Plus Johnny Rivers needs the ABs so it made perfect sense to give him the day off.

He’s our big daddy Vladdy. Nevetheless, the news reporter said the picture speaks for itself, as it did.

Sure Vladdy plays like a kid. However, where’s that big smile every day? Is Hunter worth more than Vladdy? Don’t you think it’s only human to take offense to the dollars, especially when GMJ has moved up to Newport Beach?

Vladdy needs a contract extension NOW! Make him happy NOW! Let Vladdy dictate his ownership of RF.

Aside, GMJ is a lousy number 2. Polanco is the classic number two. He doesn’t strike out very much (something like 65 SO in @ 600 ABs last year). The team could do better than GMJ as number 2. Why is the lineup so fixed in stone? Shouldn’t the best contact hitter be batting #2?

I saw Vladdy smiling in the dugout last night...

right around the 3rd inning or so. Standing on the edge of the dugout with the rest of the team.

in that promo video for the kids Vlad batting helmet.

Of course that could have just been because of the cute young blonde he was sitting next to.

so speaking of Vladdy...

i was just watching clips of the Halos/M’s game from 9/20/07 and i was cracking up. that was the game that Campillo threw at Vlad, Vlad took him deep, then Campillo threw at Vlad’s head.
they’re showing the fight… you see Vlad point and walk toward Campillo, Campillo backs up as far as he can, and Lackey goes in and starts trying to fight everybody.

that was amazing. :)
