Rosenthal on Erick Aybar
Here is an article on Aybar by Ken Rosenthal....
http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/8071310/Aybar-is-latest-sign-of-Angels'-player-development
Hopefully I got this link right. Any thoughts? Rosenthal bashings? It's interesting to pull up Fox Sports and have an article on the Angels! Does Aybar have any Yankee or Red Sox connections I am unaware of? Distant cousin of Theo? Possibly the long lost illegitimate son of George Steinbrenner? Just trying to get in my 75 words.

Interesting bit about Kendrick moving to LF once GA is out of the picture.
How likely is that really? Does that mean Figgy moves back to 2B and we find ourselves that elusive 3B powerhitter?
Pure Conjecture
If a reporter doesn’t list a source, its just his opinion. I doubt that anyone in the organization has expressed a desire to move Kendrick to LF.

LF will prob have to be Wood's position
Eybar is looking good at SS and Figgy needs to be re-signed. Howie is the man. Sean Rodriguez and Matt Brown are needing homes…

interesting
i doubt we’d see Kendrick to LF next year… maybe in like 3 years, but i doubt it next year.
unless, of course, they stuck Figgins at 2B, moved Howie to LF and let Wood take over 3B. we could do that, and then let Morales DH full time, and let Matthews ride the pine.
ok, ok… i’m dreaming, but whatever.
Bring up Wood!!!
Matt Welch
said in another thread that he thought Figgy (? or was it Kendry?) might be the starting LF next year.
Witty .sig goes here.
Funny Comment from a SUX fan
Iv’e had too watch this guy rob hit after hit from the BoSox the past couple of days, and i gotta give credit where it is due; this guy is NASTY! He doesn’t hit that bad either! Is he related to Willy? Not sure
Aybar Kicks ASS
Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i raised some eyebrows
here for having the nerve to see if Aybar could eventually evolve into a jose reyes type of player. still early but i’m liking what i see thus far.
Key words here: "still early"
There’s a lot of stiffies around here for ‘08 Aybar, but I remember last season’s bonehead version all too well.
Excuse me if it takes me more than 19 games to work up a chubby for this guy.
He's looked different since spring though.
It’s not like he’s Jeff and just spontaneously became awesome out of nowhere.

I thought this was a fair article overall
One of the better from an ECB type writer…especially after some of the uninformed crap I have seen from him in the past!
Reagins and Stoneman have built it, now people will come…
Reagins will make BIG changes…and I suspect much sooner than people suspect! He will not wait til next year to make BIG changes!

It IS early
But count me a believer.
I’ll be the first to admit I was one of the biggest Aybar-haters around (coined “Last Out Aybar”, “Double Playbar”) and pointed to his awful error total in Winter League.
That said, I have no problem eating crow, and I’m loving it! He’s still not “polished” at SS, but with consistent playing time I think he’s going to be outstanding out there. Plus, his bat hasn’t been bad, either!
Willits for ROY! Oh, wait... Um, Kendrick for batting title? Yeah!
I'm not quite done calling him Eybar though...
...love the way he is playing…keep it up and shut me up!

I'm still not convinced
But I’m pleased so far.
Since acuda brought up Willy, how many brothers-of-a-less-capable-major-leaguer do we have playing for us? We’ve definitely got the best Guerrero & Weaver, it appears we have the best Aybar, and I’d call Izturis a wash. We traded the 3rd-best Molina. Are there any I’m missing?
Excellent...we have PJ Phillips too
Jury is way out on that one!

Efren Navarro, Dont know if he is Dionars brother.
Matthew Sweeney I think hes related to Ryan or Mark Sweeney.
Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what about this
Another alternative: once GA is gone, resign Figgy and move him to left and make room for Brandon Wood (sorry, I’m still a believer).

I wouldn’t say Meicer and Caesar are a wash. While Caesar is a wizard with a glove, Meicer is no slouch, and is about 100 times the hitter of his half brother (I love the fact they were born, like, 7 months apart—their old man musta got around).

Papa Izturis
was a wizard in his own right.
