Cry, Slur SATURDAY GAME THREAD

Los Angeles Angels at Detroit Tigers, Apr 26, 2008 12:55 PM PDT

Nothing like a 55-minute pre-game show with 45 minutes of Fox commercials for lousy sitcoms and corn-syrup soda pop that subsidizes ethanol for Detroit automobiles.

RANDOM SONG LYRICS

He knows the meaning of success.
His needs are more, so he gives less.

Garret

First at-bat in the 6 spot is right back in the pressure cooker. Part of me is feeling sorry for him and the other part is thinking it is best to just get this all over with as quickly into the season as possible…

Blacked out in Seattle

Stuck with gameday (which is frozen) and mlb.audio…sheeez…

Gameday showed the last strike to GA as a mile outside. Is this true?

Extra Innings package is dramatically improved this season

WITH THE EXCEPTION OF FOX BLACKOUTS! I can now watch the low def of both teams broadcasts as well as the high def broadcasts of both teams….this is a cool feature. Some teams have really good announcers and have great things to say about our team!

Extra Innings is not helping me out today however and this sucks! :((

Moseley could be an effective seventh inning guy.

Notice that he always seems on for one or two innings, but seems to lose it in the later innings of his start. Either he lacks the stamina, or more likely, the repertoire to be a solid major league starter.

OF

Is anyone else wishing HGH was in this spacious outfield? Vlad made a horrible play on that overthrow and GA has had a couple of plays where I’d much rather have GMJ out there.

Like the bloop double by Granderson, GA plays so deep and looked in the corner of the tv like he was dogging it hoping either it would go foul or Figgins would get it and then only turned it on once it was fair. And then that double just now, I’m not saying GMJ catches it but he sure as heck has a better chance that GA.

GA should only be playing the field if one of Hunter or Mathews is hurt of Vlad is DHing. Having Vlad and GA out in the OF is a pathetic OF. I’m more upset at GA for that bloop double on Granderson. Positives for the Day

Moseley did fine for a 5th starter. 3 runs against Detroit is not the problem. GA playing a lousy LF with his typcial 1-4 with a meaningless single is not a positive. Scioscia making a lineup change without it being after the All-Star break is a positive. Mathis looking overmatched in a few abs not a positive.

Tough call

GA … 3 LOB, the ball in the OF, but lots of blame today … Hunter’s GIDP was a killer, Aybar didn’t have a good game either.

Definitely not O’Day’s fault, he pitched better than his line indicates methinks.

GA takes botg is my book.

going down looking in the first w/ the bases loaded, loafing in the OF.

Only 1 of the 3 runs were earned.

You can’t blame a pitcher when they only give up 4 earned runs agaisnt a team like Detroit.

I am a fair weather fan so the Angels better win!

Yup

According to Fangraphs, with special mention to Admiral Aybar for his groundout in the ninth.
