Athletics @ Angels WEDNESDAY GAME THREAD

Oakland Athletics @ Los Angeles Angels

You know what I like about the Oakland Athletics? They banned liquor in the clubhouse to piss off Ozzie Guillen. Well that, and also to satisfy their lawyers, charged with ensuring that no liability in the universe might sap a nickel from Lew Wolff and His Gap buddies.

A's question

Is there some reason A’s pitchers always wear hippie necklaces? I remember Zito always had one, but he was a stoner I think so I never thought anything of it. But if i’m not mistaken, their last two starters had similar accessories. Any reasoning behind this? I’m sure someone has brought this up.

Whatever dude.

Way to make the ump pay for that ball 4 called a strike!

Very nice! He was walked 3 pitches ago!

If Santana hadn't suffered from it earlier,

I’d feel bad about the strike zone Eveland is getting.

Also, I

Casey knocks out the A’s pitcher to boot.

Is it Oaktown, or Seattle that is supposed to be our “competition” in the AL West this year?

Seems like we kinda own both of them so far!

Would Sosh seriously consider having Ervin pitch the 7th ?

Doesn’t seem smart after such a long inning. However I’ve been surprised by those moves before.

Im thinking it might be like last night with Saunders.

He’s nails…Sosh may let him keep dealin.

Just got off work.

How has santana looked besides the obvious 1 run allowed?

by Northwest on Apr 30, 2008 9:07 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The run wasn't even his fault, Matt Brown has

not been good in his debut. Ervin has been as good as you could ask.

Ervin IS still dealing

So far he’s the surprise of 08 for me. Even more so than Saunders. Who would’ve thought..

by infant on Apr 30, 2008 9:07 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I disagree

We knew santana had the talent, it was just a matter of getting his head straight. Saunders has been totally dominant.

by Northwest on Apr 30, 2008 9:08 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Not saying I didn't know he had the talent

I was doubting if he could get his act together. That he has, and has been flat out dominant, surprises me.

by infant on Apr 30, 2008 9:09 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

At 108 pitches, he's almost certainly tired.

Time to go to the pen.
