Heyman SI.com - Why Scioscia is the best manager
Jon Heyman has an article up on SI.com basically declaring what we all have believed from day one, that Scioscia is the best manager in baseball. I realize no manager is infallable but it is nice to see some national publicity for the guy.
Here are a couple good quotes:
One person familiar with the Angels' inner workings, in fact, opines, "Scioscia's the guy who really runs that (organization).''
owner Arte Moreno tells SI.com, "He was here when I got here, and he'll be here when I leave.''
Scouts who regularly follow the team say that's false modesty, that Scioscia employs any strategy at his disposal to give the Angels an edge. Scioscia brought a National League style with him, and it's to the point where the Angels often have been more aggressive than most NL clubs.
He also is known around here for knowing which late-night lovers among opposing players are prone to the hangover, and he takes advantage of that, too.
Thank god he is not that scrub from Seattle

Is Arte foreshadowing something?

I liked Scioscia's response...
“I hope Arte isn’t going anywhere!”
Scioscia is one cool cat…
Arte, please buy the Angels back from the Red Sox...they've owned us long enough.
