The Good, The Bad and the Napoli...
It is early but there is some good…
•Garland and Saunders had two amazing starts.
•Weaver looked great getting the W after looking pretty good getting the L
•Santana is less hip-swishing kid and more man on the mound
•Adenhart waits in the wings - On Friday, he threw 85 pitches (49 for strikes) in 5 shutout innings, gave up 2 hits and 2 walks with 2 Ks.
•Hunter hits
•Kendrick hits
•Kotchman hits
•Figgins reached base 5 times in Friday’s game
•Aybar’s got a glove
•Napoli hits
•Mathis behind the plate rocks
•Frankie has 3 saves
But there is some bad
•Larry, Moe and Curly – I mean Thompson, Bulger and Moseley
•Quinlan getting a start
•Rivera not starting against a lefty
•The offensive performance of Vlad relative to the alleged protection in the lineu
And The Ugly...
•Napoli’s D
GOT ANY MORE?

offense
is still a bit of a question mark despite some good individual starts to the season, only 2 runs in game 1, 1 run on a wild pitch in game 3, 0 runs in first 8 innings in first home game, 2 runs, 12 hits last night. We are 4-2 because of our starting pitching.
Angels in 08!
#5
We are #5 in runs scored in the AL. If we finish the season at #5, I predict we'll finish in the top 3 records in the league.

Good
Angels Baseball
Bad
Anderson......he's not much of a Designated Hitter
Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep bad-mouthing him...
he hits well after you do it... 4-for-8, 2R, 1HR, 1RBI, yes 2K's; but still he is at a .500 clip since your post. Keep it up, Acuda!

First Week
THE BAD
Izturis/Aybar hitting a combine 2 -21 (.095)
Although early Aybar's supposedly good glove is fielding .944
Nap can't throw out the trash (no help from staff)
The Closer leads the teams in walks allowed with 3 in 3 innings
THE GOOD
Team is hitting over .300
5 Home Runs in 6 games
Offensive production is coming from Nap/Mathis
Santana won a game on the road
Weaver is healthy
Saunders went 8 strong
GOOD in AAA Salt Lake
Everything is good
Jose Arredondo is closer in waiting.
Matt Brown, Bobby Wilson, Sean Rodriguez, Freddie Sandoval, and Brad Coon are hitting the cover off the ball.
They've beat the Dodgers AAA three times straight.
Looks like Wood is making a strong case
...for wind-propelled energy efficiency -- 8 whiffs in 14 ABs.

He's hitting double that of Morales,
so that must say something about the early stats from AAA. It is interesting that the two who got the most AB's in spring training just fell off a cliff.
In the case of Morales, mabye it's just dissappointment.......go figure.
In the case of Wood, I have to wonder what they've done to him. He used to hit better, even in AAA. The pressure to impress must really be getting to him.
Wood obviously notices that in Spring Training
they grouped the stats nicely together so that it would eliminate much of the debate as to who is ready and who is not.
If Wood is to play, at least one of the other three has got to go.
Let's see...
Good
Stole bases
Not losing after taking the early lead
Speier looks to be solid again
Bad
Shortstop Hitting - I really thought Mice and Aybar would be hitting the ball better overall
Quinlan played in a game
You guys in California really do live in heaven, the Angels are in town for more than just six games and there is Jack in the Box within 200 miles.
Quinlan sucks something awful.
Hmmm
Agree with most posters already...
GOOD
Weaver, Garland, Hokie Joe look strong
Santana had a good road start
HK47, Kotch are hitting machines
Scot coming back
BAD
My sister can run on Naps
SS O production
Mosely
Frankie hasn't gone through a "clean" save yet
Outfielders For Sale.
Good
O'Day has pitched amazing and can help ease the pressure of the pen
Trade Chone and Willits and Quinlan for A-Ram!
I don't see how anyone can say anything bad
about Mike Napoli. He has given you two homeruns already, more than any other player on the team. If Guerrero had hit two home runs by now, everyone would be falling all over themselves saying how great he is, and there would not be a word said about his defense. If any of you watch the games from closer than an outfield seat, it is obvious that Napoli gives it his all behind the plate in every game he plays.
Scioscia, "Roll the hole!"
In the Rev's defense...
He only calls out Napoli for bad D. Notice above that Naps is listed under GOOD for hitting, 44.
