Angels Game 8/162 THREAD
Cleveland Indians @ Los Angeles Angels
Fausto Carmona V. Joe Saunders
Two kings of the groundball squibbers in an infield battle royale. Look for the hacks to dribble and the four gloves around the bases to be busy. Probably the best night to DH Torii this season although Scioscia never takes my advice and the record speaks for itself.

Ahh, finally game post.
Are they timed for 3 minutes before game start time?
I'm loving the preview thing over on the sidebar: "Partly cloudy. Winds blowing out to center field at 5-10 m.p.h. Game Time temperature: Around 65." Very informative!

Nice swings Vlad.
You didn't look like you were desperately hacking at anything within arms-reach at all.

Ball 4 and 5?
Did Vlad actually see a strike? NO, absolutely not! Should have been a walk!

Given that he takes like 50-60 every year
This seems a little excessive.

That he is starting slow, I have not contested.
He does not look good at the plate. But "learning to take a walk" is still overstating it.

Joe just needs to be a little better at pitch placement
Though again, the strike zone is pretty high tonight. Hopefully the Angels can be patient enough to take advantage of that.

In defense of our guys...
Carmona is easily the best pitcher we've seen this year. Expecting them to totally light him up early was probably asking too much

That is one tough lineup. Amazing that the Indians acquired Hafner from the Texas Rangers for 2 players no longer in the majors (Einar Diaz and Ryan Drese).
Ain't no stoppin' us now. We got the groove!
