who cancelled all newspaper subscriptions in favor of crafting my own information feed from the Internet. Of course, yeah, that means that I did it back when I was still in my 30’s so maybe there is something to that.

But for guys like Buzz, unless he can show me videotape of him calling bullshit in the White House press room during the run up to Iraq, he can burn the paper his journalism degree is written upon, and shut the fuck up.

I can’t believe that dumbass can’t differentiate between a blog and smartass commentators like myself.

So because a “legitimate” press exists, supposedly crafting articles and essays based on journalistic rules and “integrity”, there can’t be another completely separate medium in which the average asshole can rant about whatever in a more laid back and loose manner? Is he implying that nobody should be permitted to write anything because he and his colleagues are so called professionals who studied their craft? Like it’s OK to talk amongst yourselves, but don’t you dare let too many people hear you! Leave that to the pros! You don’t do it right! Maybe unsigned bands should stop putting their home-made demo tapes up on myspace pages too. I mean after all, there are already professional bands for our entertainment. And no more indy films! And why don’t we just stifle everybody’s thoughts and ideas and leave everything to the educated elite who clearly know what’s better for all of us peons, who can’t figure out the difference between a credible news source and a humorous website devoted to shit-talking and soap box rants. Blogs do not equal news, so bloggers are only the future of blogging, not news.

And btw, I hate when people pose the choice between getting news from newspapers, or getting it “from the internet”, as if the internet is this beast that only ingests real news, and then regurgitates it into a blob of lies and deception. There are numerous legitimate sources of news on the web, including all major newspapers, which may also account for declining newspaper circulation. I for one canceled my newspapers along time ago, and instead read those very same papers on the web for free, in addition to countless others that are more conveniently available now. Just because people don’t thumb through an actual newspaper, doesn’t mean they are not reading the actual word that are in it.
