What I really just don't understand
is where did the idea that Casey should be platooned even COME FROM? Like, where did the idea develop in Scioscia or anyone else that he should be platooned? He shouldn’t be used based on match-ups anymore than Alex Rodriguez or Vladimir Guerrero. A starting first baseman is a starting first baseman…he can hit, and should always be playing.

Sometimes Sosh’s decisions as to who starts behind the plate boggles the mind – i know we need Napoli’s bat in the lineup, but with Adenhart on the mound, Mathis would have been the better bet to nurse him through the start.
