I go with Aybar
I knew the game was over when his throw sailed into the stands.
Sea-at-ha-ha-ha that's funny.
Aybar doesn't go into the stands then...
They’ve got runners on 1-2 with no outs instead of 2-3 with no outs. They pitch to PierShitSki and possibly get the GIDP.
Angels fan since '67
That is my point. I totally agree
Scot does not handle adversity well. He tends to crumble when the defense makes errors behind him.
Sea-at-ha-ha-ha that's funny.
A Promising Loss Is Better Than A Shitty Win.
in other words, i feel better after today’s game, with lackey performing as well as he did, that i would have if lackey gave up 8 runs in 3 innings, but we still squeaked out a 12-11 victory.
Halos Fan Since 5th Grade
I almost agree
I’ll take a win any way, any how - whether the Angels deserve it or not - but Lackey’s good performance helps the loss go down a little easier.
So you think it is ok for Shields to give up a grand slam HR, as long as Lackey does fine?
I’ll take the victory over any game loss.
Scioscia, "Roll the hole!"
i actually whole-heartedly disagree
Lackey giving up 8 runs in 3 innings wouldve been chalked up to first starts, jitters and a somewhat respectable opposing lineup.
12 runs would’ve let us know that the offense might be making a comeback.
i’d rather have the offense come back, which we need every game, than Lackey showing up great during his first start of the season
Bring up Wood!!!

In other news -- GMJ is declared "officially worthless" by Angel fans
Why Willits didn’t get the nod over this overpaid HACK is beyond me. Thanks, Stoneman! And, I’m also sick of the way he runs/trots, with his arms swinging all over the place like he’s a 1st grader in T-Ball.

Blimey
When Scot goes down, he goes down in flames…
Which begs the question – I wonder how Mrs Shields feels about that?
I see red people
There's a "Mrs. Shields?"
Who knew?

Dumb question..
Why did they walk AJP and pitch to Quentin? Doesn’t that gut lead the AL in HRs?
I must have missed someting:-(

At least it shares our opinion of Chowds.
Please go away Justin Speier. Your work here is done. And take Quinlan's 4 inch fielding radius with you.

How could it not go to Aybar?
He threw the ball into the dugout!
Write to the Angels front office. Get Tim Salmon's number 15 retired!
unless quentin hit Aybar's "pitch" that he threw into the dugout over the fence...
I do not see how you can give it to Aybar.
A grand slam given up during a 1-1 tie, no matter what precedes it trumps all as blame. In his defense, Shields had to throw a strike anyway (it was 2-0 count on SanQuentin). But regardless, he got himself into the 2-0 predicament and served up a pitch that was ripped out of the park by a professional baseball player. You, Scot Shields, get blame of the game.
