I went back and watched some old Angels v Rangers (and selective Rangers) games when GMJ was raking. I noticed a few things.

GMJ seems to be so concerned now with the ump not calling every pitch a ball, that he isnt concentrating on the pitcher and at bat. It seems like every at-bat to every pitch that does go his way, he leans back, has a sour look on his face and shakes his head. Watching the games while in his last season with the Rangers, he hardly ever paused to pout in an at bat. He held more of a swagger then, almost as if even though that was a strike he was going to hit it.

His swing then was also much more flat, as well as he didnt swing nearly as hard. It was more of a leveled plane smooth stroke ans opposed to his almost two staged drop down then slightly uppercut swing he has now.

I didnt watch every game, or very at-bat, but jus
t some things I noticed. He needs to stop whining at every strike called and focus on not sucking so hard.

but this reminds me of a game last year at fenway… weav starts and i think is like hitless thru 5 and gives up a squibber to lugo or crisp and he implodes and gives up a bunch of runs the capper an ortiz homer…. hope he finds the groove again
