281 .356 .454 (BA/ OBP/ SLG) not a bad line in 300 PAs. but still, thats not a great #3 hitter as vlads career line is 316 .383 .553 wich is vastly superior to HGHs in 3200 more PAs

Funny how the turning of a page on the calendar does weird things in baseball

Garland is due for some good luck pitching.

Did we leave our bats in April?

I want Colonel and Ervin to continue their April work!

Figgins has sure cooled!

Eybar has been pretty consistent thus far.

Maybe that means that KRod can start dominating and stop scaring the shit out of us all daily!

Bahhhh, I thought that too, but....

Cabrera, who was 0-2 against the Angels in 2007 and in his career has a 2-3 record and a 6.55 ERA, has been looking more and more like the pitcher that the Orioles have hoped he’d be for the past few seasons. He pitched well in Chicago in terrible conditions on Monday and despite walking seven, looked strong throughout.

GMJ does exactly what he shouldn’t do, rolls over weakly and gets an RBI.

by ihearhowie2.0 on May 3, 2008 2:52 PM PDT up reply actions

but RBI are mostly of function of who is hitting ahead of you.

Notice Figgins and Willits get on base today and he has 2 RBI w/o getting a hit.

If he hit .300 and less RBI than if he hit .250 that is because the hitters hitting ahead of him had much worse seasons not because he played better.

I stand by it. Aybar isn’t that good at 2B. He’s got great range, but when it comes to routine plays, he’s just not that good at it. One play doesn’t compare with what I saw in spring and last year.

I said the same about Aybar at SS last year.

And confessed to the error of my ways last night. I see tremendous progress in his footwork at SS and confidence with his throws to first, over 2007.

At the same time, I said bad things about Howie’s D at 2B last year. I don’t think that he has near the range of Kennedy or even Izzy. I am willing to admit being wrong there, too, but Howie has to get enough playing time this year for me to observe any progress.

But the ill-timing of your post was just too perfect.! : )

Good game

But I have to say, I hate playing the Angels. Every time we play you guys Figgins and co. will run on everything and the O’s cannot produce more than 2 runs an outing so all those runners advancing kills us.

My best game plan is to sit on the bench and call out specific instructions like 'C'mon Boog,' 'Get ahold of one, Frank,' or 'Let's go, Brooks.' -Earl Weaver

Good game, Baltimo.

Guthrie pitched a hell of a game last night. Kudos to him and to you guys.

PANTHER = GARLAND!

Should be a no-brainer!
