KRod pitching around Overbay?
Certainly not giving in to him with a fastball is he?
Anyone else hearing the fans giving Barajas heck about his pants and his ass?
This is bad Vlad and his band of wimps!
That pitch to Barajas was lower than the 3-2 to Overbay and he called it a strike!
WTF?
This is bad Vlad and his band of wimps!
make up call

i'd love for Howie, or GA to park it and shove it in the ump's face
Maybe Hooters should offer free wings if the Angels score 10 runs in a series.
by Chone's Chonies on May 31, 2008 8:37 PM PDT reply actions
I liked it when Frank Robinson was in charge of the umps and the huddled up to get the call right
This is bad Vlad and his band of wimps!
evidence the umps screwed up: they don't eject scioscia
by Los Angeles de Anaheim on May 31, 2008 8:38 PM PDT reply actions
good point
but they dont even have the balls to huddle up and fix it
Let Wood play!!!
by howiestheman on May 31, 2008 8:39 PM PDT up reply actions
More instant replay talk cuz MLB can't get their shit in a pile!
Bud’s an idiot!
This is bad Vlad and his band of wimps!
no one wants to replay every call
The problem is with these damn umps being unwilling to admit when they make mistakes
by Los Angeles de Anaheim on May 31, 2008 8:39 PM PDT up reply actions
nope, give each mgr 2 challenges per game...and give it back if the call is overturned
pretty simple really!
This is bad Vlad and his band of wimps!
Well, I have to say:
We got the same call in our favor back in the ‘05 playoffs against the Yankees, Game 5.
~Till the Halo burns out...
d that got cancelled out in the '05 ALCS
so they owe us again
Let Wood play!!!
by howiestheman on May 31, 2008 8:40 PM PDT up reply actions
ignore that "d"... dunno what that was
Let Wood play!!!
by howiestheman on May 31, 2008 8:41 PM PDT up reply actions
True enough.
I’m just saying that it’s something we’ve seen happen before. And I think that the situation was the same. Reggie was on the fair side of the baseline, and I believe that’s the wrong side of the line to be on in that play.
~Till the Halo burns out...
can the angels file a grievance to the league or something
that is unacceptable, how can an ump impact a game so blatantly like that
NO BUENO
i root for teams that lack offense! go halos and bills!
by norcaliangelsfan on May 31, 2008 8:40 PM PDT reply actions
You'd think the umps would make the right call so they could go home
But NO!!! these dumbasses want to go to extras
by Los Angeles de Anaheim on May 31, 2008 8:40 PM PDT reply actions
Did the ump hit Griffin's arm?
Was it just me or did the ump slap Griffin’s arm away when he was pointing at the baseline?
It was just me
Just watched it on replay…
by HungryHunter on May 31, 2008 8:46 PM PDT up reply actions
Man that';s the worst call I've seen in a long time ...
I can’t Soth didn’t get run for that. He should have.

by Chone's Chonies on May 31, 2008 8:46 PM PDT reply actions
that wasnt anywhere close to the track
it barely went past 3rd base!

man........vlad is bordering on pathetic
i root for teams that lack offense! go halos and bills!
by norcaliangelsfan on May 31, 2008 8:46 PM PDT reply actions
he's had..
like 10 seasons of above .300 batting average. Seems to me a year of slip is gonna happen. Let’s just hope he can turn it around… and soon!
He seems like he just mentally frustrated at something… just gripping too tight.
http://www.sipperphotography.com
The man is in the basepath
if the throw hits the runner the ball is in play. Right?
Don't call me Desmond
Well then we got totally screwed
Don't call me Desmond
by highlandhalo on May 31, 2008 8:49 PM PDT up reply actions
true...
though he is supposed to be in foul territory in the running lane…I have never seen it called when the runner is on the dirt like that….he was clearly on the grass about a step before the ball hit him in the back….they just never call it when the runner is on the dirt!
This is bad Vlad and his band of wimps!
The rule seems to be that on a ball up the first base line
the runner must stay on the foul side of the baseline so that the catcher can make a play on the ball and throw to first if it stays fair.
~Till the Halo burns out...
Any decent catcher could have thrown the ball to the infield side
of the bag REGARDLESS of where Willits was and they still should have made the play.
Don't call me Desmond
by highlandhalo on May 31, 2008 8:50 PM PDT up reply actions
What COULD have happened is irrelevent really.
Point is, that’s the rule. That’s what it was in the 05 playoffs, and that’s what it is now.
~Till the Halo burns out...
Irrelevant my arse
Baseball is baseball.
The umps should start making calls as if they understand the game. Barajas drilled Willits right in the back and the freaking Jays got away with it Scot free. Horseshit.
Don't call me Desmond
by highlandhalo on May 31, 2008 8:54 PM PDT up reply actions
That's the point. They DO understand the game because that's one of the rules.
It was like that in 05 when we caught a break cause Cano had the same thing happen.
~Till the Halo burns out...
it depends on whether he was inside the foul line or outside it........
i root for teams that lack offense! go halos and bills!
by norcaliangelsfan on May 31, 2008 8:50 PM PDT up reply actions
There is that little strip of chalk
outside the foul line where runners are allowed to be running … on plays like that. Horseshit. I’m just upset that Scioscia didn’t get run for it cuz he should have.
Don't call me Desmond

i root for teams that lack offense! go halos and bills!
by norcaliangelsfan on May 31, 2008 9:03 PM PDT reply actions
i was at the game a couple of weeks ago when the angels had the bases loaded
down by a run and the bases loaded and juan pops up to first on the first pitch
I'd rather see Willits in LF
Need i remind the folks at home once again of my call at the beginning of the game that 6-9 would be coming thru in this game?

Only real mistake was the barely out of Willits’ reach homer. The other run was on Kendrick.
