The Angels Record is 8-2-2
The Angels have a record of 8-2-2 in series so far this year. And they have gone 6-0-2 in the last 8 series after losing 2-2 in the first 4 series of the year. If we just keep winning series the rest of the year, i.e. winning 2 of 3 for the rest of the year, we will wind up with 106 wins. While it may be a stretch to say we will win that many games, I feel that we should be able to win around 95-100, especially with Lackey coming back shortly, and getting Kendrick healthy and back in the lineup.
What are your thoughts about how many games the Angels will win

To me the jury is out...
From what I have seen of our starting pitching…
Weaver…underperforming
Judy…underperforming
Saunders…overperforming
Santana…overperforming
5th spot…underperforming
...law of averages says things should slightly improve on this front.
Lackey is THE KEY! If he comes back as the Lackey of last year, then we are golden…if he underperforms, I think we may be in some trouble (or trades may be necessary) in the long run. ANY contribution from Escobar is simply gravy! A solid, healthy Lackey is what gives us any chance of exceeding 95 wins.
Adenhart has been a disappointment for me. I was holding out hope that he might be able to pull a Lackey from 2002. The mid-season callup that pulls you through…perhaps he or someone else can still pull that off, there is time!

Lackey underperforming...
...is still about 400% better than Moseley / Adenhart underperforming. He can underperform to the tune of a 4 ERA and we’re still about 3 runs a game better off.

adenhart underperforming
i think that adenhart underperforming should be mostly chalked up to inexperience. his first game came on 3 days rest and he got yanked after 2 innings, yes his walks were high, but i dont think anyone could walk rite into a big league environment and pitch at the level he was pitching at in AAA. and his 2nd game was a vast improvement from his first one.

As someone else pointed out
he’s had - what? - 30-some games over single-A. Send him back to AAA and let him ripen.

gimme a break ... baseball is simple.
Throw the ball.
Catch the ball.
See the ball.
Hit the ball.
How hard is that? The fact that Adenhart got blowed up is clearly a result of his ability to understand these basic tenents.
