Dude, this movie has taken sooooo long to finish. I remember reading casting decisions about three years ago. Shane West as Darby Crash?!?! Whatever. Anyway, it's been out and about, hitting the film festival circuit. I caught it at the Newport Beach Film Festival weeks ago, and it's not all that bad. Not all that great either, but if you're down with Panther lore, go see it. Oh, and one of my favorite LA bands, The Bronx(stupid name, I know), plays Black Flag. It's also kinda cool to see people from The Decline era in big screen adaptations.

For those of you confused about this, we got the “Panther” mascot from random song lyrics during a game thread in 2005, random song lyrics by the band depicted in that trailer.

I kinda thought its super off topic.
But i’ve come to realize that there are a lot of old school punks on HalosHeaven. And semi-old school punks, like me. Or just punks. I seriously think the Angels are the most punk rock team in MLB, too, by the way. The heart of the “tragic kingdom”, if you will. The Germs gave us PANTHER, in an odd and roundabout way. Lets give them respect.
Rev, you should check it out. I wasn’t too keen on Shane West being Darby, but I have to admit he kinda works. And I give him props for going from TeenBeat guy to drug using nihilist. Brave project choice. You live in LA, which means as far as regular theatres go, you may have a better chance of catching it than most people.
Dude, the part in the trailer when they get their crap together and start recording gives me chills…in the movie, its even better.

My Girlfriend hung out with Pat Smear a few years ago!
He was also at the Foo Fighters show in Oakland a few months ago.
He told a funny story about how he told the Red Hot Chili Peppers he would only be their guitar player if they stop playing funk.

I was at that screening
Sat behind Mr. West and his posse during the show. I didn’t know much about The Germs or Darby going into it so I can’t comment on the performance but I will say that the film left me a little disappointed. The scene from Decline of the Western Civilization in the film is spot on though.

The scene where he pep-talks his band-mates in the garage gave me douche chills. It’s like Ashton Kutcher playing Keith Morris, or Keanu Reeves as Jello Biafra.

I hear ya. Honestly, he's not that bad though.
They could’ve casted someone better, no doubt. But nonetheless, it’s a good flick. And to be honest, he really does look like Darby Crash.

Mariners fan here.
I’ll leave my opinion of your team of choice out of this, but any group of people that is this into Darby Crash is fine by me.
Also, I am somewhat skeptical of this movie, but it’s pretty awesome that the Mae Shi are in it.
