wow, the hits just keep on coming, huh? and yet, bad news for the Mariners never seems to get old. how's that 2008 AL West championship tasting, M's fans?
hahaha
" 'Change is in order.' Lincoln said. 'We have determined new leadership is needed in the GM position. With a new leader will come a new plan and a new approach. A search will begin immediately for a permanent GM, and Lee will be a candidate for the position.' "

wow
after all that good stuff last season…. GA must have fired him for being too lazy
Rodger Lodge and Dave Smith are the two best radio talk show hosts in the country. Period.
TOO BAD
Bavasi there has been like an insurance policy for us. Now they might acceidentally pick a good candidate.
Lat’s face it, their owners care more about coddling Kenji Johjima and Ichiro than actually winning (or are misguided into thinking that these guys will assist in winning it all). Until Howard Lincoln is replaced and/or the ownership changes, the Mriners will be mired in their ethnicity/personality-first ways.
Bavasi stank in Anaheim, too
The only thing that saved him in the end was that he had a good scouting department. It’s not clear that the M’s have even that, or when they do (cough Jeff Clement cough) that they’re willing to give their good young kids a chance. And then there’s trades like Horacio Ramirez for Rafael Soriano

AGREE
A few Angel greats landed in his lap and he was at the helm when we won the K-Rod bidding war, but all in all he was terrible here – putting all his eggs in the Mo Vaughn basket was just one example of many.
The sentimentality for the TWO Bavasi’s is something i have never understood – Buzzie and Bill were pieces of shit when it came to assembling and maintaining winners.

K Rod bidding war
So why are we basically nonexistant there now? I have not even heard us mentioned in the Michael Inoa scouting reports.
Seattle I would like to thank you for sucking. It allows me to get back to my roots: Hating Fremont.
?????????
I was referring to the 1998 bidding war for 16-yr-old Frankie. Bavasi ponied up a 900K signing bonus and he signed.
Otherwise I don’t understand your post.

I am asking why the Angels are inactive in the Latin American FA market

Good point
Add in Kendry and clealry I had a brain fart

Buzzie
put together some pretty good Dodger teams; he just never understood free agency. But give him a reserve clause, and he’d build a good team.
Did he?
Did he put them together or was he just the new salesman on the lot when Sandy Koufax’ cadillac drove up? I would actually like to know the years of his tenure/influence there.
Actually, yeah, Buzzie had a pretty strong influence
in building the Dodgers’ first WS foundation, and also deserves serious credit for standing at the front lines of racial integration.
He brought Walter Alston into the organization, and took the reigns of the Dodgers while they were still in Brooklyn, in 1951. He was there until 1968. That was 8 NL pennants and 4 WS titles. The 1959 title came before Koufax.
Peter O'Malley's rise was Buzzie's warning shot
Walter wanted his son to take over, and Bavasi pere’s job was threatened. He headed for the door and ran off to the expansion Padres in 1968/9. Of course, that turned out to be something of a ripoff, as the Padres’ owner was a crook.

One other point
Remember 2002? The AL West that year had three 90+ win teams. Having a pushover in the division does not help the Angels win titles.

good point
2006 was ours save for Seattle’s 1-18 record against Oaky Choaky.

If they are serious
They should fire Lincoln as well.
Too little too late. Too many stupid moves have been made in the last two years.
Seattle I would like to thank you for sucking. It allows me to get back to my roots: Hating Fremont.
This is NOT bad news for Seattle
This is bad news for us.
The good news is that McLaren is still the manager.
yeah
they’re going to probably learn from their mistakes and hire somebody a lot better

Damn!
Too early for us to hose the stupid shark-faced man on an Ichiro deal. Now they’ll get someone smarter.
Don't call me Desmond
Too bad.
As long as he stayed there, Seattle could safely be written off.
