Jerry Manuel's Mets @ Angels Tuesday Pregame
7:05 PM - Johanna Santana @ John Lackey
Bummer Kobe didn't wipe the parquet floor in four as nobody is going to see this great match-up. Willie Randolph will get to watch Paul Pierce to his heart's content, though...
Pregame Guesses: Name the Angel with the highest total combined hits-walks-runs-RBI in tonight's game. Correct guess gets three points.

Willie Randolf fired after game with Angels guess:
Chone Figgins
The internet destabilizes every hierarchy it contacts.
they fired him real quick
at least I can say I saw his last game as manager of the Metropolitans.

I got to say
I was suprised that Randolph got fired now. I didn’t think that they would fire him after a win, and after the first game of a road trip.
That was a Bush League move by the Mets, Randolph deserved better that that.

It was never Randolph’s bad that Delgado and Pedro are too old to get it done, but the blame game is hotter than the damn summers in NYC
***Me to fellow die-hard Ryan after the Angels scored their tenth run on an eighth inning Tommy Murphy home run (10+ runs = free hot wings):
Me: "What the hell are you doing, dude?"
Ryan: "I'm flapping my wings for hot wings!"
Me: "Sit the f*** down and stop acting like a drunk 15-year-old, you ain't Christopher Lloyd and we ain't sitting in the outfield"

Text from the photo as of this post time...
Atlanta Braves’ catcher Gregor Blanco, right, is late with the tag as Los Angeles Angels’ Torii Hunter scores on teammate’s Casey Kotchman two run RBI double in the third inning during their MLB baseball game, Saturday, June 14, 2008, in Anaheim, Calif.

i pledge alliegance... to mike Scioscia
and the angels way of baseball
and to each pennant and ring we are sure to win.
one fanatic, under the halo, unwavered
with in n out and world series rings for all
Well...
you’d think if Rivera was gonna get playing time, it would be in a game against a premium lefty. Egads Scioscia is a dolt.

Still gonna go with Vlad...keepin' the faith!
Which Vlad shows up tonight? Seems to vary by AB I guess…he has a good one, and then runners are in scoring position and he goes back to swinging at everything…?!
What if there is a tie?
Tidbits
Shortstop Erick Aybar made his second rehab start with Class A Rancho Cucamonga on Monday. He went 2-for-4 with one run scored, one double and two RBIs. He could rejoin the team as early as Friday when the Angels play in Philadelphia. ... Third baseman Brandon Wood, who was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday to make room for Chone Figgins, hit his first home run since returning to the Minor Leagues on Sunday. ... Shortstop Maicer Izturis singled in the first inning on Monday, and he has now hit safely in 14 of his past 15 games.
This is bad Vlad and his band of wimps!
line ups are posted
for those wanting changes (i.e.., Willits and/or Rivera), it’s not happening tonight.

Angels in 08!
In July, 2005
GA hit a three run homer off of Santana in the 7th inning to key an Angel come from behind victory. Maybe, Mike is hoping that history repeats itself. (it’s a stretch but who knows?)
Angels in 08!
actually
GA was our best hitter/OBP against Santana before the game. Vlad (was) sub .150, figgins wasn’t bad, Iz hunter and kotch never faced him.
I didn’t bother to check GMJ, Rivera, Catchers, or Willits.
Angels Defense. Angels Pitching. Get past that. :-[
