Even better to outhustle a team with the Flyin' Hawaiian, Shane Victorino.
Is that one of the coolest nicknames in sports or what?
Right up there with K-Rod and AK-47.

wasn’t his nickname. Its was his legal name. And he was AWESOME.

World wasn't actually his name at birth
His birth name was Bernard B. Free. He picked up the nickname “World” during his early years because of his “all-world” skills. But he did have his name legally changed to World years ago, during his playing career. Apparently World B. Free is working for the Sixers in the front office still.
And yes, he was AWESOME.
