Vegas Meet-Up Itinerary

Monday July 14, Tuesday July 15, Wednesday July 16.

We got a great group rate at Fremont Street's VEGAS CLUB in Downtown Las Vegas - under the electric canopy. Halos Heaven is getting together for fun and festivities, watching the All-Star Game in a suite, prowling the legendary Vegas Strip, the bars and of course the low-end (penny slot) casinos as only a posse of baseball nuts protected by the power of the Panther can.

CALL TODAY at 1-800-634-6575, tell them you are with HALOS HEAVEN (reservation code LHH714) and you will get two nights (Mon. 7/14 and Tue. 7/15) at the VEGAS CLUB (the only sports-themed casino hotel in Las Vegas) for $25 a night.

YOU MUST MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS BY next week - JUNE 12 to reserve this AWESOME ROOM RATE. Don't delay, reserve today.

HERE IS The long-awaited ITINERARY of what we are all doing, when and where we are doing it. How and Why we are doing this are to be determined or unfathomable at present.

Monday July 14
9 PM: Drinks, Griffin Bar, Fremont Street, Downtown Las Vegas. Check into the hotel, check out the scene, maybe take a nap to prepare for the night ahead, get your own dinner, watch the All Star Homerun Derby, meet up with us for a drink or two at this hip, yet welcoming watering hole.

10:30 PM: $10 Blackjack tournament, Western Casino, Fremont Street, East of Downtown Las Vegas  - We will play blackjack with $10 @ $2 per hand minimum. Last player with money will be the winner. You can participate or be a spectator.

11 PM: Snacks at the El Cortez Casino Ice Cream Stand, Fremont Street, Downtown Las Vegas. You can participate or stay true to that diet.

11:30 PM: $20, 15 minute Craps tournament (El Cortez Casino) – Who can lose the least amount of money (or make the most) in 15 minutes at a craps table starting with $20. I think cupie was the timekeeper last year and yeswecan won out with $7. You can participate or be a spectator.

MIDNIGHT: 2nd Annual Penny Slot tournament. Gold Spike Casino, North of Fremont Street, Downtown Las Vegas. Bring $5. Cupie will be defending his title.

1 AM: Fremont Street Scavenger Hunt – Meet at the entrance to the Plaza Hotel, divide into teams. Your team will be given a list of things to collect. We will have two or three teams. Your team will have 1 hour. No stealing will be required. Except maybe ashtrays. You can participate or go to bed.

2 AM: What the hell are you doing up at this hour? Oh, you are meeting the Rev in front of the Vegas Club (our Hotel) with your Scavenger hunt commodities. Winners get extremely awesome prizes.

Tuesday July 15
3 PM: Time to bet on the All-Star Game – Las Vegas Hilton Sports Book. We can all compare notes or you can hide your tickets from everyone else.

5 PM: Watching the ALL STAR GAME in our suite – Vegas Strip location to be determined. This will be the ultimate drink-n-mingle fest, we will likely be posting live from the suite onto HALOS HEAVEN

After the game: 11 PM: Digital Camera Scour - Meet at the entrance to Bally’s Hotel on the STRIP, divide into teams. Your team will be given a list of IMAGES to collect on your digital camera (for example, take a picture of a guy who looks like Reggie Willits – bonus points if a member of your team is also in the picture). We will have two or three teams. Your team will have 1 hour. You can participate or hang at the bar.

1 AM: What the hell are you doing up at this hour? Oh, you are meeting the Rev at the bar in the Bellagio with your pics. Winners get extremely awesome prizes.

Wednesday July 16
Breakfast at the Break of Noon – Golden Nugget Coffee Shop, Fremont Street, Downtown Las Vegas. Experience the pleasure of good company and edible food one last time before we go our separate ways. Final chance to win prizes in our Halos Heaven Trivia Contest.

*sigh*

Alas, I won’t be able to make the trek this year (the office job is getting in the way). This is a really fun trip, and the scavenger hunt sounds like it will add some more spice to the nights! Hey pattimelt, if you see my ashtray, could you bring it back for me? hahha

Have fun everyone!

i know you are going to be there at the last minute

wanting to crash on the floor of our suite and Missus Halofan is gonna be like “Get his drunk ass out into the hallway and I will slam the door… NOW!”

Crash on the floor?

Do you mean that people actually sleep in Vegas? That’s news to me.

by yeswecan on Jun 5, 2008 12:33 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Me too, yeswecan

New job…. can’t take off for 3 days in the middle of the week :(

oh come one man

You need to start NOW and show them what your priorities are. Don’t let them bully you around…you tell them you are taking the time off. Ever watch Office Space? This act alone will get you a PROMOTION!

I am toying with the idea of attending

Whats the expected turnout? The hardest thing will be to secure time off, considering that its in mid July, the time everyone requests time off where I work. I would love to meet fellow die hard Halo fans, especially since there are so many of you out here in the I.E. (I’m in Temecula, originally from Berdoo) . By chance are any Halo fans going to beerfest in choakland? If you are hit me up, my uncle is a Socal transplant and die hard Halo fan. We will be the only guys in their house talking smack about their beloved tarps.

YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE.....

Maybe next year

I’m already going home to Temple City a couple weeks after that. Those flights are starting to get expensive.

Sounds like fun.

Wish I could make it, but it is a bit far from Denmark for a quick jaunt.

Also, question for those that are in the know. I noticed that the Draft is happening, well … now, and that the Halos don’t have a first round pick. Our farm always seems to be charged anyway, but I was just wondering where our pick went. Anyone have an idea about this???

by matthiasstephan on Jun 5, 2008 12:04 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

OUR PICK

The 27th, went to Minnesota for signing Hunter – we get the 74th pick.
