Red Sux great role models for our youth...

While watching Sport Center this evening I happened to witness the 2nd inning brawl between Shield and Crisp... first of all it was a weak fight, and honestly Coco you asked for with that slide in a second. Did you expect no retaliation?  Take the hit  for your sorry team and hustle down to first.  What happened to SPORTSMANSHIP??  Honestly, I mean my expectations for the Suxs are low as it is, but seriously as "world champions"  you should expect a large audience, especially of young influential kids and that is what example you are setting??? So sad, and to make matters worse then Manny goes after Youkilis? Wow, This is a team that will have a rough time down the stretch... I mean honestly what are they so stressed about that they are going after each other......

Coco looked pretty mussed up post game

But I think it was due to the fact that there was a lot of scratching and hair pulling. Nothing more shameful than a bench clearing brawl, for the simple reason most players can’t fight.

That was the stupidest fight I've seen in a long time

Look, whatever happened the previous game, Coco Crisp screwed up an otherwise nice night at Fenway. He got himself thrown out, but more importantly, he got Shields thrown out, which sucked. Instead of having a moderately close game as Lester vs. Shields, it turned into a slow, boring game of Rays bullpen vs. some guy named Carter in left field. It was ridiculous. It turned a game which moving quickly into a real crawler, and once Ellsbury hurt himself and Drew moved to center, it was even stupider.

There’s a place for brawls, but not early in a close game between division leaders. So dumb.

Northeastern University Huskies: Mediocre hockey, guaranteed.

I didn't mean there's no place for brawls

Just that overall, there dumb. Other than Nolan Ryan, Tim Belcher and Chan Ho, our melee in K.C. most fights aren’t fights. Coco Crisp is small dude, who ran out like he was gonna lay out Shields, Kimbo Gomes really didn’t land punches Although it looked like Navarro went all Sprewell on Coco Puffs. That was good.

I get enough Sox on ESPN...

now there’s a thread-per-day covering the Sox here, too?

If you watch closely, you will see Jonny "Kimbo Slice" Gomes

go ape-shit on a fallen Coco Crisp. Now, I ‘aint no Sox fan, but Gomes deserved a curbing for that shit. That’s reminiscent of that asshole on the Royals (about 7-8 years ago) who took a few potshots on our player. Watching Ken Howell and Darin Erstad (et. al.) unload on that prick was priceless. Revenge served cold!

I disagree

Crawford and Gomes gave Crisp what he deserved.

Seattle I would like to thank you for sucking. It allows me to get back to my roots: Hating Fremont.

Iwamura was in there giving Crisp the business too

As he should have, seeing how he was the one on the receiving end of Coco’s bullcrap “slide” the game before. Screw the Red Sux.

Navarro had Crisp on the ground -- hog-tied, Nelson-ed, and neutralized.

Then Gomes and his tag-team partners do their best WWE on the dude. I’m sure that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.

Navarro took a while to get to Coco

but once he did, he hauled him down and held him for his buddies to give him the business. It’s a bad example for the youth of today … okay … but those non-PC of us who actually played baseball loved that shit.

Oh, and BTW

there was nothing dirty about the way Bartlett blocked 2B on his tag attempt when Coco tried to steal second. It was all bush league the way Coco went into Iwamura.

And then later in the Sox dugout ....... Manny vs. The Head!

Nothing deflates an otherwise cocky-assed team like a little inner dissension.

And Gomes

Was in the center of both brawls despite not being immediately involved in either. Iwamura was spiked at second to start both of the incidents too I believe

Howie for MVP!
