Hair Frosting Tips, Kangaroos, and another Halo victory
Jon Garland had 8 k's, Macier Izturis was the A's personal menace tonight, and Frankie had to make it a lil' to intense.
Panther: What are your thoughts? Mine, Macier and his wacky hair-do.
The disparity in win-oomph is too large to ignore over at fangraphs ...
Panther of the Game: Jon Garland

I know this is lame, but I vote for a Co-Panther.
We don’t win without Judy and his 8 K’s, but we also don’t win without the offensive machine that is Mighty Mice.

hey..
what would you guys think about alternate black unis for the Angels?
Black jersey with red letters/white outline?
i think it would be cool

by howiestheman on Jun 7, 2008 8:57 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
i disagree
The reason the A’s Black unis look so fucked up is that they are all wearing different colored teeshirts – they do not even look like a TEAM. Angel red touches on Black would be AWESOME!

no way
the A’s ones are disgusting

's'allright, dude.
If the Halos came out in those colors, people would actually think they would be badass.

Although..
I wouldn’t mind a black cap w/ a red A that they would wear on the road a’la the St. Louis Cardinals.

I'm gonna say Izzy, cause he deserves something for
jumpstarting the offense the last 2 games.

Izzy
Garland had it before giving up the two run jack.

by Zu Long on Jun 7, 2008 8:59 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
guess giving up 2 isnt impressive anymore
having a weak offense the past month makes 5 seem like a breakout game while giving up 2 runs is failure.
by ihearhowie2.0 on Jun 7, 2008 9:00 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Not a failure.
But not as panther, comparatively, as a leadoff homer plus scoring three runs.

Garland by a good margin IMO
1 hit though 6 innings
Yea he gave up on opposite field homer in the 7th but with a 5 run lead at least he wasn’t walking people.

Judging from the Athletics Nation game wraps, they got Soth Balled
two nights in a row and still don’t even know what hit them.

I laugh at the A's troll that was gloating about
their last sweep and how they were going to sweep us (it was in our game thread during the Angels’ last game in Sweepattle). Talk about a loser. The Angels already WIN THIS SERIES! SUCK ON THAT, TROLL!

Gotta be Garland
It was awesome seeing all those A’s take strike 3 looking and then walking back to the dugout with their head hanging down low. A beautiful site way up close.

even with all the bitching and injuries and everything
the angels are tied for the best record in the MLB! who woulda thunk it during spring training! 39-24 and a .619 win pct. and thats with S-rod and his sweet 44 OPS+ starting the most games at 2B

Garland. Seeing 8 A’s strike out was very fun.

A white knuckle save, but a save just the same
Judy followed the yellow brick road to 8 K’s, Izzy continued his leadoff dominance, and K-Rod kept the save in order. And all against the Fremont A’s.

Can anyone think of another nickname other than Judy?
Wildly iconic child actor turned druggie turned mother of the preeminent fag-hag turned overdosee isn’t what I would call an inspiring nickname for our consistent pitcher.

Too be honest, I really don't dig that nickname either.
It sounds like were all fans of a softball league, out of West Hollywood or Palm Springs ( not that there’s anything wrong with that ) .

izzy’s not a bad alternative, though
